Exhaust fan is one good option in kitchen. Placing them at right wall and height does the job perfectly than a chimney.

Came to know about Island kitchen. Gave a very good and clear Idea on kitchen platform and it uses. Voice and explanation perfect. If I would watched your videos before 10years, I would have not faced the discomfort now I am facing in my kitchen. When we bought Chimney we dint have much idea about it so provided lights above the Gas stove itself.

Sir, we have planned to have open kitchen and we are planning to have our tove in that open part. Will chimney be effective to suck the smoke, if yes can you please suggest the sucksion power for chimney...!

Both are equally good. Preference Changes according to the design and the individual choices.

out of experience i would say desinging the kicthen is based on the routine food cooked in the kitchen. The modern kitchen deisgn will never work well for a typical south indian style kitchen.

If it's going to be regular intensive cooking with lot of oil and non vegetarian food it's suggested to go with ducted chimney.
