I'm going to take my washer apart and see what's up with it. I had a repairman out today who said the problem was some gear thing, even though it still agitates and drains and that it couldn't be fixed as the part is no longer made. Mine's a mid 90's Kenmore stacking washer.dryer. I still had to pay $99 for a service call. I would gladly pay $175 even 200, and get it fixed. Thank-you. All I can do is look at it and try.

My washer won't drainor spin. I checked the pump and its a bit stiff but spins .. When it gets to spin on any of the cycles there is no sound at all. Already have the switch taped down. I spin the coupler by the bushing and the motor axle moves. Amy thoughts on where to look?

Followed this video to fix my whirlpool estate washer and it was successful, however I noticed a smell coming from the machine during the spin. Any thoughts? Kinda smelled like a burning smell. Thanks!

I have a kenmore 90 series washer the water fills up and drains but it doesn't spin. What could be wrong with it? Trying to fix it myself I took it apart and checked the coupler but it's fine.

Great video! Will the washer agitate normally with a broken coupler? My washer is not spinning properly but agitates just fine. My pump is clear. Wondering if I might have a sock or something between the basket and tub. Any thoughts would be appreciated!

New washers are fine. It’s used washers that still have small amounts of water in them that you shouldn’t turn on the side. Unless you have a shop vac near by. Because any water in it, will be on the floor shortly after tilting. Otherwise, yes it’s fine to put on its side.

He charges $10 anyway. That part cost less than $5. Just Google your washers model # then use that to Google the motor coupling. Worst case scenario use your model # and call manufacturer for part number then browse Google to find cheapest site with your product.

Likely this or your clutch. Take it apart and check the components. Overthinking it makes it harder than it is. 😉

Does it mean I have to buy a new washing machine? It agitates, it drains well, but it won’t spin. I replaced the coupler but I still got the same result but with a burnt smell. I have a direct drive washing machine. It’s an old machine from Kenmore (110.91264100).

Facts are important. Part actually cost me $8-$15 OEM depending on supply and demand market conditions and that's with my business discount. Not all parts are the same quality.
