Good work on the video. The confusion for licensing seems to confuse small and Main Street businesses and potentially makes it too complicated and drives customers to other platforms for smaller needs.

Our internet company does not have anything compatible with teams here in Alaska but they will not allow teams to use our phone number. I don't want to lose the number because the company number has been the same for the last 30 years.

That sucks. Sorry to hear. I'd suggest getting a new number, and then doing a Remote Call Forward (RCF), for the old number (and maybe a couple additional RCF paths paths), and stop advertising it.

Are you able to have multiple handsets for a Teams common phone line ext.? For example a warehouse setting where multiple employees carry around a handset.

Kinda, but each individual phone must still have it's own shared device license (plus it's own calling plan), and it's own extension/phone number. You can have both ring at the same time, by setting up a call group (with simultaneous ring), for the number you're wanting to be associated with those two phones.

Does this 8 dollars allow the phone to dial out? Or do you need to add a dialing plan if you dont have a service provider.

You also need a calling plan/PSTN access

Would a shared device license be used for the main phone line for the business? We just started the business and need to establish a primary phone number for the business and confused on which license to or Teams.

Hi Michael! You need to sign up at least one user with Teams Phone Standard, and a calling plan. For a small company like you described, I'd recommend just getting the bundle for $16/month that includes a calling plan. From there, inside the Admin portal, you need to create a "resource account" and add a phone number to it (i.e. your main number), that will ring to either an auto attendant or call queue.
