Commodore 64 "Shortboard" (Assy 250469) repair video

A few months ago I purchased this Commodore 64 board as I wanted to try repairing it myself.
I then realised the board was coming without a few chips and that I would need a PSU, a keyboard, a diagnostic cartridge and cables. So I left the board on a shelf until I came across more C64 stuff.
Now it's time to see if this board works once the missing chips are replaced. Will it work?

Yes I did notice it was not the best must say watching these after having seen your later videos they have improved with leaps and bounds in all respects.

Thank you so much for your kind words! If you're into Commodore, I made two more videos - still old (but not that old) and should be more watchable - which very few people ever watched, but I think it was an interesting fault! kzread.info/dash/bejne/iYWEuNGtXaaunJs.html I hope you don't mind if I recommend some of my own videos! :)

ARMSID sounds like a better idea as they are moderen devices an old SID has the change of diying again.

Absolutely, I still need to find a case for this board! I had forgotten about this old video, sorry it's an early one and the quality is not the best (editing, recording etc!). Thanks for watching!

It looks like you repopulated the board while it was still powered on….(?)…. Interesting. I guess you turned it off…

It was a long time ago but I think you are right... Beginners' mistake! :) Thankfully I didn't cause any further damage! On my AT power supply adaptor - for retro PC - I installed a green LED on the 5V rail exactly to help me avoiding those mistakes again! :) Thanks for watching!
