I recently downloaded this game again, theres a very easy way to do it. Just get steam on your PC, which is free, then download Commandos Behind Enemy Lines, it is around 2 pounds on the store. Hope this helps people :)

I played this game about 20 years ago, such a great game.

2019 and suddenly it comes out of nowhere in my head,bring so much nostalgic feeling. 😌

I BEGGED for this game for Hanukkah and waa not disappointed! This, two, and Hidden & Dangerous fostered in me a life-long love of ww2 tactical games. It is a shame the genre and its adjacent genres get so little love and attention nowadays. Like a loveless marriage, maybe someone exciting will show up n start picking up the pieces Edit: an eleven year old boy was never so happy. Love you Dad!

I remember many hours spent just on that airfield level.I was so amazed how it was like those old ww2 films I’d watch as a kid.One of the best games ever made.

I was watching a completely unrelated video, and they used a clip from this game. It sparked such a childhood memory that I had to find it. Then I realized despite my nostalgia, I never made it very far in this game, and it is WAY BETTER than I remember!

This video brings back memories of MANY hours spent trying to formulate the perfect plan. Kinda lame that only certain soldiers could operate certain vehicles but was still fun. What I DON'T understand is how all of the command acknowledgements from your troops DIDN'T drive me bat-shit crazy back then! LOL

The Commandos series was AND IS a master piece in my book.

There were something extremely satisfying about this game, sneaking up behind the enemy cutting the enemy's throat and have the rest of the squad do their tasks. One of the best games I in the late 90's. Loved it.

Really? That's weird. I definitely recall completing several of the missions by sacrificing one or more of the commandos. Some of the later missions were a bit hard on my poor kid-brain q:

AAAAAh ! Those days. Golden times. I remember my game had no save option,I had to play all I can at one go,every single time. Man,I remember every ladder and soldier.

This game... Wow, it really put your mind to work. Such a great combination of action, graphics and strategy for those years. And the third person, last installment commandos, was not bad but my graphics could not take it.

Awesome memories of my family still togheter and everything working for the best. Thank God for those memories

Mission 1 wasn't bad. It was mission 2 for me. Then I realized I could save the game mid mission then I was an expert lol

Well, I suppose you can play it any way you like, I just think it's more of a stealth style of strategy you're suppose to be employing. You can basically complete every level by placing 2 or 3 of your men round a corner, firing their guns, and bating every enemy on the map into a trap, its piss easy that way, but its not really what I would call strategic. There's far more skill in timing that perfect sprint and knife to the back, picking up the guy, and throwing him behind a rock before anyone manages to see you.

On most levels you cant employ this strategy because there is an alarm, but on this level you can, plus i was a kid when i did this :]

Fair enough, it's actually how I use to play a good deal of the game when it first came out and I was a kid, that's how I know even on the levels with the alarms, a group of 5 is still easily defeated using this tactic, by using 2 or 3 of your own.

Not one of the but this game is the greatest game ever made in planet earth, perfect character, great mission, great game play. Who ever played this game praised it, Pyro should be proud of this game.

Thanks for uploading this video. Commandos is a fantastic series which does not get the praise it deserves. It is overshadowed by Starcraft & Diablo. Although it is nice to see an active group of fans commenting on this footage.
