Commander Keen 4: Secret of the Oracle version 1.0 shareware, DOSBox version 0.74 at max 100% cycles. The purpose of max cycles is to minimize in-game loading times.
Start time is Keen's first frame of movement on the map; end time is Keen touching the last red-robed guy (in the water level), which is noted by the first frame that doesn't indicate movement after reaching him. Note that, by a different (and usual for other runners) timing, this time should be ~0.25s slower: I'm just using what I consider a slightly better starting point for the purposes of frame-count.
The messup in Crystalus costs a whopping 1.5s, but it is the only mistake in the run: everything else is "less than optimal" and in many cases not by much at all. Oracles were nice enough, I guess. My theoretical best is six seconds faster, and probably 2-3s of that was lost to bad oracles, so yeah, I'm generally satisfied with the movement in this run.

Nice speedrun. I don't think anyone can be faster anymore.

How did you get the height on the pogo jumps in miragia so accurate?

An extraordinary amount of practice, nothing less. When I was improving the record I recall practicing Miragia (and the last room of Cave of the Descendants) regularly before starting a session of attempts. They're incredibly difficult to optimize compared to the rest, much of which boils down to positional timing and reacting to enemies. I will say that this particular instance is *very good* even with active practice, and the record-setting run just happened to contain it. One minor trick to be more optimal when scaling vertically is that Keen will clip onto a platform if he's close enough to it and traveling horizontally without pogo. The first two jumps before scaling the final vertical pipe in Miragia (see 0:50) make use of this to reduce accuracy requirements: in theory you could do it on the rest, but the slugs are likely to get in the way (though feel free to try it out anyway). If you can afford to move horizontally a little during jumps (like in Crysalis and Descendants) then ending pogo early to clip onto platforms is a more feasible way to optimize those sections.

isn't it faster to fall than to slide down poles?
