Especially when Brian sees the player with a commander that basically plays as an X cost has a mana flare out. Spencer will get more value out of that than the rest of the table as the game goes on. It's not symmetrical because of the matchup

Thats what we did in the 90s and early 2000s lol.

Community is my favorite tv show and I did see both Spencer and Jacob first there so when they introduced themselves by their bit parts in community I lost my shit. Sidenote, Spencer shows up in a second episode of season 5 as well but just in the background of a picture of the old timey pictures club as a The Shining reference.

Love Spencer, loved Harmon Quest. Easily my favorite guest on any mtg show.

Spencer: “I like this jar of eyeballs because I like the flavor” Adding that the folder labeled “quotes that are significantly more concerning if you don’t know about a specific Magic card”

The realization that Jacob played Tinkle Town legitimately triggered my mid life crisis.

Spencer's sense of humor is golden, by far one of the most enjoyable guests you guys have.

Probably my favourite commander channel on youtube. Spencer is so good - big chaotic neutral energy with no sleeves.

Normally I don’t bother with channels that start with ads and sponsers and intros that mean that the actual video content doesn’t start until minutes in but I’m glad I gave this channel a chance because this is worth it

Spencer’s side eye at the 7 minute mark on the “time in the tank” was brilliant

Yeah he’s chill, but honestly ngl I saw the “protect trans kids” shirt & stopped watching the episode. You can be as cool as the next person but under that umbrella & people with that logic, yeah I’m good.

In case anyone is curious, hinterland harbor doesn’t enter untapped with yavimaya you need to have a forest as it enters the battlefield for it to be untapped (which means the game decides if it’s tapped or untapped before it becomes a forest)

Doesn't it ? Because according to 614.12, replacement effects consider continuous effects that would apply to the permanent as it would be onto the battlefield to decide how they apply. EDIT: so, after checking, harbor enters tapped with Yavimaya (and no other land under your control) but untapped with things like Blood Moon. The channel Judging FtW has an deeper explanation with Urborg and Isolated Chapel as an example (DDR#38)

@@bouboulroz Yes, so I think that refers more to stuff like determining if you draw a card with garruk’s uprising and lord effects (which you do) because in 614.12a it is clear that replacement effects that affect a permanent entering the battlefield are applied before it enters.

Also, 614.12a only refers to replacement effects that require a choice (meaning a choice a player has to make, such as choosing a color, not just something the game has to check to be true or not). @@bouboulroz Oh yeah you are right that was a bad example, after doing some research I think that rule refers mostly to things that will make a permanent enter with additional counters like rhythm of the wild, it is just to verify if the permanent entering is a creature before it enters the battlefield so it can enter with the +1/+1 counter or haste. That rule is just to explain how the game knows what is entering before it enters but the game still will not take the permanent in consideration like being on the battlefield to fulfill the requirements of replacement effects.

This episode was great. I watched it with my wife, who just started messing with Commander as well (just 1v1 so far). This made her excited to play it more. She and I loved the pace of gameplay and how you all help each other understand interactions and cards. Keep it up, we're fans for sure!

The genuine banter and jokes thrown around in these makes them so compelling!

Would it? because it ETBs tapped unless you control another forest, and since as its entering you do not control another forest i do believe itd enter tapped still as it doesnt become a forest until its resolved into play lol.

Commander at Home has become one of my favourite commander gameplay channels in... A heck of a hurry.

So crazy thing about Brian's first land drop of the game, despite itself being a Forest type it would still enter the BF tapped. That is a Replacement Effect and they look forward in time and so the land will not see a Forest on the BF before it enters and so it will enter as a tapped land.

All my buddies were so excited to grab me on friday to say that Brian played Beluna! I just got into the game recently and i built Beluna as my first deck! I'm now playing Gorion adventures and having tonnes of fun copying spells!

Olivia, Prossh was my very first commander as well. I got it altered, I loved the Jund (didn't know it was called that back then) colors. So I just had a bunch of token stuff and big stompy creatures. 0 combos, hardly any interaction. There was a table ban of that commander with some of my friends but once they saw my deck they let me play it just out of pity. And it was the most fun deck I ever had lol

Okay so I just finished watching Commander VS and then Shuffle up and play. Now this. I fucking love commander games.
