I first played this game when I was about 10 and my most enduring memory was this song.. so militant yet so poignant... I have thought about it at least once a week since then, and now I'm 26!! Utterly haunting track.

This was the song that played in the mission when u land on the beach as GDI deep in NOD territory. There are flame tanks hidden in the area boasting a fiery death for your men and you have to somehow find a suitable location to establish a foothold. Epic music, for an epic level.

The name is exactly how it sounds..sick!

A masterpiece that will stand the test of time indefinitely!

ah the old memories, 11 years old i played whole day and night c&c1 with ps1 :)

best soundtrack ever. remember all those long night playing hours hours. 1h game, 0 tiberium on the map, waiting it to grow - march to doom plays. sniff.

By far my most favorite song from Command and Conquer. Always cued it up right before I sent my army on an assault. Great times sitting on my friend's floor playing it on my PSX.

is it really 15 years? when i´m listening to this song, I can remember it like it was a blink of time away... one everlasting masterpiece of computer games history!

Damn. Ever since I played this game for the first time, I've caught myself whistling the tune to this.

I think one of the most memorial parts of Command & Conquer was when supply of tiberium was so tight that you had to wait for it to grow before you could build anything. Every credit was precious. If you had a blossom tree near your base you could crank the game speed all the way up, and put your screen over an inactive part of the battlefield and wait.. a long time for it to grow. The sandbag bug was very helpful in this instance!

This game was my first PS1 game... Still love the soundtrack!

I remember this song playing on that one level late in the GDI campaign where you had to establish a base deep in NOD territory after landing on a beach with nothing but a handful of Grenadiers and a mobile command center, it was all so epic to this music.

I remember when I was a little kid this song use to make me cry. Well not really cry. But it's depressing. Yet in retrospect good memories. Good memroies.

a revolutionary game. one of my old time favourites.

Today's games not suck, they just don't have it . by it I mean that thing that will cause u to feel this magical feeling. U know this magical feeling in 10 years. Nostalgia. I'm only 16 and I feel it everytime when I play old games.

What was great about Westwood games was that they could capture your mind and heart before you even started playing : the installation process was already a great time in itself. EVA installation for TD, bomb assembly line for RA, intelligence report for RA2... It was definitely better than those boring Windows installers !

You also missed that Welcome Back Commander moment when the game detects if you had played the game before or not. That is the straw that took me again and again.

this makes me feel a unit that is downed, a sad moment when fighting till the death for it's country in full glory. and in the end of the song he died of his wounds.

waaaaaa... i downloaded a c&c soundtrack collection, but that missed this music I just had it in my had, and didn't know what's the title or anything. And i find it here. Thank you very much :)

What was different about EA and Westwood was simply the immersion factor. Does anyone remember the cut scene where you attempt to rescue a trapped informant above a flight of wooden stairs? He was getting the tar beaten out of him and by the time you reach the door, you see the silhouette of his head get blown away by what appeared to be a very high caliber sidearm. I still remember that vividly and that was nearly 15 years ago. RIP Westwood, you are forever missed.

i would get attached to my little soldiers, and sometimes the songs would dictate my decisions lol. this song made me watch my soldiers alot of the time.

This so reminds me of the last mission on GDI side. It was VERY DIFFICULT for me due the multiple number of Nod construction yards, being able to erect a nearly demolished base out of nothing and it took like 6 hours to defeat it through some guerilla tactics and also capturing some Nod tech to get the higher ground :D So daamn epic track :')

this is certainly one of the best songs ever written for a game, and there surely wasn't anything like it until Total Annihilation came out with 100% orchestral tracks.

i would just like to add that this tune'd sound brilliant on an accordion.

It makes me wonder that how the fuck did Klepacki come up with music as epic as this.. Gotta love all that music he made for the first C&C and RA...

Also, plain old infantry are the most flexible force available to a commander. They can be easily kitted out for a whole variety of missions/enemy types, compared to other branches of the military.

Best song was the "Mechanical Man" song, I think it was track 6 in the game, I just had to stick this on loop as I kicked ass in my Mammoth Tanks!! lol Long live Westwood Studios - You will always be Command & Conquer to us, your true fans, Well done EA on ruining yet another game coz you dont give a shit about games, only Dollar signs. What a game this was... so many memories.... the first time you see a mammoth tank... the first time you saw the Obelisk of Light, that commando.. oh yeah!

It's actually one of the harder games in the C&C series, great fun aswell.

i remember when this music started i had more care for my soldiers! :-) poor boy!

This makes me feel like a minigunner marching to a gunfight with hostile units, you know, the whole patriotic, die for your country thing.

No, the most annoying part was hearing the *sqoik* of a unit getting run over by an enemy tank and then hearing 'Unit Lost' ^^ Amazing game.
