    EXACTLY what I've been looking for. We don't use our dining room so I'm making it into my office / comic / collectible display room. This is sooooo simple. The before and after at the end of the video is way better. The J-channels make it look so clean. I appreciate the measurements you provided, that will save me some time when installing them.

    This is incredibly helpful. As a kid, I used to occasionally get comics from a Galaxy store in Mount Pleasant, which was one of the closest stores within an hour and a half from home. Maybe you're related!

    That was my store, too. We opened it with The Stadium. We did the comic half and they did the sports card half. After a couple years I sold the Galaxy half to The Stadium. I think he ended up selling it to the kid he had running it but I don't know for sure. I know it's been gone forever.

    Just realized that this is the video a buddy of mine recommended to me to watch to get an idea for displaying my graded books. Just want to let you know that they work like a charm and display the books beautifully. I do keep that room pretty well blacked out when I'm not in there to reduce damage from UV rays. Anyway, great idea, thanks again!

    Unfortunately, right now, probably nowhere. Comic top-loaders have basically been out of stock from most distributors for the better part of a year. The last time we sold them they retailed for $2.50 each and now I think people are selling them on Amazon and Ebay for $5-6 each. All we can do is wait for things to get somewhat back to normal and HOPEFULLY they will become available again early next year.

  • @GalaxyComicsSaginaw

    @GalaxyComicsSaginaw

    5 жыл бұрын

    @@mufasa1982 In a comic box there are other books in there and they are packed relatively tight. At least to the point they can't lean and therefore bend. With the J-channel, the books are not being held tight. There is a little bit of wiggle room. I guess if you used something like a full-back board they would be okay but with a thinner board if the book is leaning forward the book could eventually sag or bend forward over time. Maybe not. I just know that with the top loader they CAN'T bend and I personally think they look better just because the spacing is completely uniform.

    That's really odd. It should be right in the aisle with the siding stuff. It comes in 12' pieces and there should be a section where it's all standing on end. I guess ask them where the vinyl siding is and see if you can find it there. It's not rare, lol. It's the piece you need for the corner of a house when you are installing vinyl siding so any place that sells siding should sell J-channel. Good luck. :)

    I suppose. But it's 100x easier to cut the plastic with a saw than a knife. And I've built dozens of shelving units out of 2x4 for this place and after a while you get tired of having to stop and recharge the battery halfway through every project. I plug in this $30 drill and I can build 50 shelves in a row without stopping.
