Comet - New Technology in Home Laundry (2004)

A promotional DVD I picked up in Comet roughly around 2004/2005 talking about new features on washing machines such as fuzzy logic, Energy ratings, Quick Washes, Hot and Cold fill appliances and the increasingly more common cold fill only ones and general things to consider when buying a new washing machine. The DVD is heavily focused on the Samsung 7.5kg “Big Wash” machines.
This dvd was played many times while I was growing up, trips to Comet with mum after swimming were frequent as the local Comet store was within 200 metres from the leisure centre so she would take me in afterwards. I don’t remember comet trips well as I was very young, if this DVD does date to 2004 then I would have been four when I picked it up!

Many machines in background such as Dyson Contrarotators, Hoover Six’s, Indesit Evolutions and the machines that followed, Hotpoint WMA and WD, Siemens SerieIQ models, Zanussi orange button series and FC1200W compact, Beko Eco Cares, a Merloni Servis Caress and Quartz, Whirlpool Dreamspace, Bosch WFX models and a few other machines from that era.

I remember visiting Comet! Can’t believe this video is 16 years old!
I remember Comet my old local Comet is now a Smyths Toys Superstore. They went on 18 December 2012 we bought our old Indesit from there back in 2010

Looking great! I can't wait for the stream! I always wished seeing some old washing machine adverts. I have seen some on KZread already but i'm really excited about this one. All of those washing machines are so beautiful! Definitely better than the ones we have today!

0:59 That BEKO washing machine in the background is one my my most favourite's one of our uncles before he passed away I remember visiting his house and seeing that very same BEKO washing machine in white outside in his garden I only got to look at it for 5 seconds sadly but at the same time it was in very good condition to!

Comet miss that shop it was my absolute favourite when I was a kid

What an amazing video it was awesome was shocked to see a hotpoint which looked like a wma or wd washer dryer still there and an indesit evolution still there
I have never seen this old DVD showing many these famous washing machines, so this is very good for me to watch. I would like to see the many LG washing machines from that year because they were much interesting to watch, although will it show many LG machines is that even the hard question and I cannot watch it on 2:30am as in my country, the timeline is different than your country which case I still have to be sleeping lol 😂. Hope you can show the old DVD from Comet and have a good day for you 👍

Same I do miss them days but then again comet use to have loads of complaints I remember the old wts and wfs when they were out

It’s sad that most of these machines are probably replaced 2 washers ago such as my wma
I WANNA GET BEKO ECOCARE FROM early 2000's
Loved comet I brought my first ever hifi from there’s Sony stack system with Cd in 1990 . Then in 2012 just before they went bankrupt brought an Acer laptop in the closing down sale .

Good to see the last generation of Hotpoint's that were built to last, I didn't realise Samsung did washing machines this far back, was this the first time Samsung made washing machines?

Yeah they must be early Samsungs. I can’t think of any before especially for the UK market
There is a Beko Ecocare in silver my old landlord owned one which we used in our old flat but ours was white and cream
