Wow, this is a gem! Thank you for sharing this experience, such a great learning opportunity for me. And I agree with another commenter... if they can't get you proper samples, walk away. He already sounds like a hassle to work with. Your request was simple. He should have jumped on it and gotten it right.

Good luck!! Make sure his promises are written in a contract about him taking responsibility if its wrong as he said he would do.

I agree. If they cant do exactly what you’re asking, let them go. Those small concerns will become big concerns when you have parted with your money and your needs weren’t fully met.

I think it’s to secure the order as the samples don’t make them much money. And yes come to think of it I didn’t actually get what I paid for which is grounds for money back right?

@@TadiiG For me it's quite simple - this is what you ordered - what they delivered wasn't close enough to the spec - so they come back to you in a few weeks with the new samples that meet the original criteria - everyone's happy and you proceed with bulk. When he started saying that people don't understand the manufacturing process I was a bit like hmmmm. If they agreed to make samples of the spec, they should be able to deliver. It's not rocket science.

These good quality large manufacturers defo bully small businesses because they know it’s hard to hard a reputable manufacturer. That was my solution but he wasn’t hearing it and I guess sometimes they have the upper hand
