He seems to like Ficus and they may be fine because he won’t be moving it around. They love good light and to be left alone, perfect for an office.

I like this suggestion, but the Norfolk Island Pine I had formerly seemed to not be getting the light it deserved… it was right next to the North-facing window, so I’m not sure what the issue was.

I enjoyed seeing all the beautiful plants. Thanks for taking us along for the ride. The cash po you got is adorable. I hope your husband finds a plant he can manage to care for and one that he loves and makes him happy 😀🎉

I’m all for neat looking plants lol hate the look of anything trailing, bushy or messy 😅 Maybe a Rubber Tree? They’re very sturdy, neat looking and a breeze to keep as long as it’s getting tons of light.

A Philodendron Red Congo a big one is more likely can buy any garden center even big buck stores. Yes a Ficus would be great option too😊

The plant you found after the spathiphyllum looks like a Medinilla (I think you were wondering what the scientific name is). The no ID trailing plant you found looked like big leaf periwinkle or Vinca major. Typically an outdoor plant and very invasive in some areas. Thanks for bringing us along on a plant shopping trip! It's always cool to see what other garden centers have

Maybe your husband will like fiddle leaf fig bambino or ficus audrey or ficus alii we have all those at home and my husband loves a tree form houseplants as well . He personally have a bambino in his office and it seems to be thriving by neglect 😂

My spouse has a really similar taste in plants to your husband! He really prefers the more tree-like non-bushy plants. We've gotten him a Ficus elastica 'Ruby'/'Belize' (not sure which one it is, if there even is a difference), a Ficus benjamina and a Polyscias scutellaria 'Fabian'. He would have wanted a Ficus benghalensis 'Audrey', but stores near us didn’t have it. I think your husband might indeed be happy with a ficus. They're not that finicky! (Okay, I'm a relative plant newbie, so I don't really know)

those are such great ideas! and it seems like the consensus is that as long as he doesn't move the ficus, it should be less temperamental lol

I think he liked the ficus benjamina And the lyrata! I have great luck with my fiddle leaf fig! I moved one a couple of years Ago. It froze in the moving truck. I cut it Ll the way back and stuck it in a corner. I replaced it with another 6' one. I've chopped the new one twice in a year. The old one came back and is about 3ft. Tall with HUGE leaves. So I love my fiddle leaf figs. I also have a ficus Audrey, an African fig, And a variegated ficus benjamina! As long as you put them in a place with moderate sunlight or artificial light and water occasionally, they do great?! They pretty much like to be left alone!!

I do like the look of the Benjamina! I think it’s between that and the Alii as front runners right now.

Maybe your husband would like a Ficus Alii? You can buy them at different stages, they can be more like a bush or a tree. They just feel very unique!

I LOVE the idea of a bonsai; they just seem so intimidating though. And the spot I’m buying for is a floor spot that very conveniently hides a million cables that come out of my wall at a random spot in the corner so it needs to be kinda large 😂👍
