I got hooked on Booktube Dec. 2022, I have always had an interest in reading, but now I have a reading goal for 2023. 😄 I have "A Court of Thorn and Roses" its my next read and it looks like we have simular interest in books. I am looking forward to your vlogs

You’re never too old for young adult more writers are just removing spice worth a read, I wish I could go to that store with a few months worth of my paycheck.

First of all, you are so cute! I love everything about this video. Jane Eyre is my favorite book (along with Little Women & the Great Gatsby). I, too, feel like B&N is overpriced $17 for a paperback?! And your face when you smelled that candle 😂 I love classics, historical fiction and mystery/thrillers but I just ventured into YA fantasy. I’m a little over halfway through with the Cruel Prince and so far I’m loving it. I’m going to go and binge all of your videos now ❤

A winters promise is my all time favorite. Super underrated series but can only recommend 🥰

I’d really REALLY recommend the shatter me series, it’s so much fun. Definitely a bit juvenile but that’s what I love about it, it’s so easy to read and really engaging. Also I’d recommend the cruel prince if u like fae AND VERY POLITICAL plots. It’s a very politically driven/plot driven series, ppl say it’s a romance fantasy but romance is literally barely even a sub plot

i have been hearing about and seeing the shatter me series everywhere! perhaps i should at least try the first couple books and see what i think 😆 i actually made a reading vlog of me reading the cruel prince series, and i couldn't agree with you more! i really enjoyed the entire series and also liked that romance was sprinkled in but was not the main~

I finished ACOTAR a while ago and I love the series. I also agree that book 2 onwards is the best. I have mixed feelings about how the story progressed (@the lo-down - you'll find out once you start reading book 2) but I think you will still like it. The story changed for the better.

I only recently learned where a Half Price Books was close to my house (technically a 2.5 hour drive), but I really love that store.

I would recommend Iron widow as a ya fantasy It’s a mix with science fiction about the place of women. I loved it and I think you would too ❤ Such a cute haul also, you were pretty funny

I'm erring on the side of not giving away too many location details because I've only just now stumbled across your channel and don't know how much geographic info you've shared with your subscribers. All that said, I have to wonder if you've been to the two-story B&N that's near the biggest mall in the metro-area. The one that still has a JCPenney's.

Good luck with ACOTAR. I genuinely hope you like it more than I did (1/5 stars 😭). I loved The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo, but I wasn’t a big fan of her backlog as it’s mostly chicklit. I’ve read a couple, but not One True Loves. Excited to hear what you think about it! Here’s some slightly less popular but well written fantasy series; Scythe by Neil Schusterman, The Wayward Children series by Seanan Mcguire, The Scholomance series by Naomi Novik, The Tearling Series by Erika Johansen. Also, you seemed surprised by how expensive some books were in the store. As a bookseller, an easy guide is; YA paperbacks = $10-15, YA Hardcovers = $15-20, ADULT Paperbacks = $15-20, ADULT Hardcovers = $25-30, and mass market paperbacks = $5-10. Classics can vary depending on edition! I only mention this cause I’ve seen a LOT of confusion about this on TikTok. And the prices I’ve listed are US based, so apologies if you live elsewhere! Ooo I wanna try the Dune series! I read George Lucas got a lot of his inspo for Star Wars from the Dune series. I might need to watch the movie first though lol. If you like stations eleven, farenheit 451 is really good and if you like dark academia then the atlas six. Cruel prince series was *chefs kiss* especially book 2 and 3 and that led me to ACOTAR (SO good!) I think cruel prince before ACOTAR made reading a lot easier because holly black does the best world building in terms of the fae. Plus she just released stolen heir book! It's nice to see a Chuck Palahniuk book here too. His books Choke and Invisible Monsters were really good but his writing style is like horror/transgressive fiction so it's not for everyone

i read the first book in the Dune series because i wanted to read it before watching the movie (which i thoroughly enjoyed! it was very beautiful)! i read farenheit 451 as well, although it's been a while 😅 i've seen atlas six a lot and may get around to it at some point! loved the cruel prince but didn't like ACOTAR as much.. but will share more about that in another video!
