Song is amazing, I was only slightly disappointed when the bagpipe solo wasn't added to the second verse with a lower volume as i feel it could've added another layer of your already well mastered pleasantry. Please keep doing this, I'm exited to hear more!

I take steel drums and my teacher I swear has turned it into a music theory class instead so I completely understand him struggling it can be confusing under pressure

My wife, a music major, tells me I have to say "that's not what a half note is, funny music man. A half note is a duration of a note. What you mean is a half step." Again, not from me, my music major wife. But we both love all your vids.

As a person that plays the ukulele, this video and Daniel realizing the ukulele is out of tune (which is common if the Uke had newly put on strings) while recording the song was so accurate!! He did a fantastic job though, 10 out of 10, would listen again!

as someone with perfect pitch, i can confirm that the ukelele and the vocals were a full 5th higher than the bagpipes. the bagpipes were in Bb major. You were playing the ukelele and singing in F major

Will never understand why people are constantly shitting on them, I assume people in other countries just can‘t play them well? It‘s a great instrument. The point is for it to carry across the landscape and echo in glens and you can feel it in your chest. You don‘t have to like em but it‘s really annoying to have them mocked so much

When you told the story about the cockroach, I was spitting out water after brushing my teeth, and a black bean the shape of a bug washed out the little crevice between my molars, had me on edge for a solid 30s

I see bagpipes and halt as I imagine The Slaughter Bagpipes and I call literally anyone who knows TMA to sign this harmless soul-binding contract that this is the Slaughter song now

The thing that occurred to me at first about combining ukulele and bagpipes is that bagpipes are much louder than ukulele. But not tuning your ukulele before recording and playing the instruments in different keys definitely adds to the barriers to writing a decent song! Though using just the chanter does fix the volume issue. The results are highly entertaining.

@@TheDGomezzi True. I'm thinking as an acoustic musician who doesn't do that much recording. A full set of highland pipes in the same room as a ukulele and voice would completely drown them out if you were trying to do a live acoustic performance.

Even though that’s not what a half note is, funny music man, I enjoyed this video immensely, especially watching you play a pipe chanter by mouth. Thanking you. P.S. you can use tuning tape to change the value of the notes, but it sounded much better the way you did it.

As someone who loves the first How to train your dragon movie I adore bag pipes!!

IV - I - V - I The in the key of Bb it would be Eb - Bb - F - Bb You were in C, so retuning the bagpipe tracks (including the drones) two semitones up would solve your problems. But thinking on the spot, and with time limit is difficult. You pulled off a funny and engaging song anyway, even if it meant taking a slightly different route - that's sometimes very inspiring. The 'crazy' background vocals responding to the main serious vocal is something I will definitely use in my music!
