fun fact: when half life 2 was initially released the cannon on the dropship would gun you down to stop you from doing this, but when hl2 was released in the orange box a patch came with it which bugged out the cannon

@@TheTanglerrr yep, on my first playthrough, I camped those guys in the lighthouse and saved everyone, just recently, I couldn't now, because whenever I'm in view the dropship gun would fire at me and the rebels.

combine soilders didnt existed at that time. There were syncs soilders instead (way more powerful than 4 elite)

It does shoot you if you go in front of it, that's why I was hiding behind the wall as it approached and only came out when I was behind the gun

If you use MMod, the dropships have rotating turrets and actually shoot you, instead of shooting only if you're directly in front of them.

that's how they're supposed to function but they broke in an update and valve never patched them

I did this with a Shotgun in my kill count 🤣 great tactic, thanks KZread for showing me this years later!

What mod is this because this is definitely not vanilla half life 2. Also this is exactly how I played this portion during half life 2. Did the same in a battle that comes a bit after this one, with 4 ships instead of one.
