Loving all these videos, watched many of them more than once. Last class the professor showed us a part and asked if anyone knew what it was. I said a combination gas valve, he looked at me strange and asked why did I call it that? Remembered your video talking about all the different parts!

Ty you are the G.O.A.T sir 🙏 Seriously though. Lots of great teachers on KZread (Brian Orr, Craig M.), but you sir are the 1% of the 1%. Thank you so much for the great content.

I see you don’t trust your mechanical pressure gauges but you trust the digital meter, I don’t trust either that’s why I use a dwyer tube filled with water. You should demonstrate one sometime, plus you could double check your digital stuff for accuracy. You know every analog to digital converter relies on a digital to analog converter for conversion, lots of electronics there to mess up. As an electronics technician I’m a little more hesitant on thinking just because it’s digital it must be accurate. All and all though, a very informative presentation. Good job!

Thank you. I have the water manometer also. It's just not practical to keep distilled water all the time. When it comes down to it I'm going to rely more on my combustion analyser. I have that in analog chemicals too but I do prefer my digital bacharat.

How does the thermostat control high stage vs low stage? Is there an extra wire going to the control board? Also do you just set the temperature different higher then 3 degrees to get it into high stage?

Yes, w1 first stage and W2 for second stage, typically a 2F difference between 1st and second

When you have 24VAC showing, it means the switch is open right.? It’ll go to 0vac on the right sequence which shows it’s closed right.?

  • @love2hvac

Yes Sam that is correct! Voltage shows an open switch (potential diffrence) O v is a closed switch ( no potential difference) as it's the same wire or 0v can also mean no voltage to the unit whatsoever open or closed.

What is the red hose for?

  • @love2hvac

It's the vent hose that connects the CGV vent to the burner box. They are only seen on 90 pluss furnaces

The vent on a gas valve is there to allow the pressure regulator inside the valve body to reference atmospheric pressure. There should be no gas leaking from the gas valve itself from this vent. Let me find a link

All regulators have vents, here is a video on vents in general but it is not specific to Gas furnace. It's good information. Let me find one specific. kzread.info/dash/bejne/Z5dr0ZRmfpjgnZs.html
