Ok, I think it's finally time I did this. I'm trying to raise funds so we can get off the street and practice our martial arts inside an actual building. I can't work anymore due to my accident, and I can't do this alone. I won't lie. If you can donate, share and ask others to help me out, i would owe you my eternal thanks. Closed mouths don't get fed. And, i need to be able to feed my students in a better setting than out in the elements. Thank you all for anything you do to help me get this out or even donate. I am ashamed that I'm even doing this, but my students deserve better. gofund.me/b838f9f4
The Hung Sing Choy Lee Fut system (original name: Hung Sing Fut Gar) is a Chinese martial art for traditional kung fu combat training. This is not one of your run of the mill schools of kung fu. Our system has been tried and test since it’s inception in 1851, all the way down to current times. In the old days, our system was used on the battle field in life and death combat during the many “revolutions” that took place in China between 1851-1949.
Our elders have fought Western boxers, Muay Thai, rival kung fu factions, bandits, rogue government soldiers, defended their country against the invading Japanese, and even aided in the overthrowing of the Qing Dynasty in 1911. Today, we are continuing our combative path by entering Sanda/Sanshou competitions and the like. However, it is not our goal to become sport fighters. It is our goal to always maintain the efficiency and longevity of our style, lineage, and integrity.
Titles, money, fame are only for those actively searching for that. WE, are just your average people who want to know how to effectively use kung fu as it was intended, protection of ourselves, our friends and our family. Note: we are never trying to impress anyone or looking for others approval in what we do. What we do is for US, By Us. Still, we do appreciate the kind words you may have for us and our training. Train hard, fight hard. Great Victory is IN THE HOUSE.

I'm gonna applaud this. Yes, there will be some people who say they are not doing kung fu. However, "kung fu" is a broad term that just means "great skill acquired through work and practice" so anything can have kung fu. Your golf game can have good kung fu. Also there is nothing that says you can't evolve kung fu. In fact, one of the many criticisms about Chinese martial arts is that it is stuck in the past due to pride, and stuck in a rut with the inability to give up some tradition and change with the times based on what we know about the effectiveness of boxing, muay Thai, BJJ, etc. But, again, kung fu just means great skill so if combining it with jiu-jitsu and boxing improves it then, hey, why not? At the end of the day it's still kung fu if you want to call it kung fu. There's "American karate" so why not "American kung fu" with a melting pot of different influences but keeping the spirit of Chinese kung fu? "I know kung fu" -- Neo in The Matrix

Thanks for your comment. We only do our Choy Lee Fut. They only thing i did with my school is look at what mater others so good at what they did. there's nothing wrong with how you train your gung fu. OUR gung fu was brought to America in the early 1920's. We are the first and oldest gung fu school in america. our gung fu evolved to deal with life in a foreign place. Hung Sing Choy Lee Fut is a pure combat system. our elders fought through many wars, challenge matches from kung fu and western boxers, and muay thai. so we evolve to our surroundings. No one uses kung fu as one see's in the movies. if you don't know how to punch, kick, defend, they it's worthless. when we put gloves on you don't see our panther fists, you don't see our elephant fist, our tiger claws, dragon head strikes, and so on. But it's important to evolve your style to deal with current threats or enemies. we've gone and fought muay thai and came so damn close to winning our very first time out. At the same time, we don't look for praise. all we care about is knowing how to use our gung fu weapons handed down to us. i don't mean weaponry, but our strikes are our weapons. in my students fight against muay thai, if you knew the choy lee fut system, you would see our choy lee fut techniques being used. currently i have students learning bjj. this will add to their stand up game. i think generally, we can handle most in a stand up game.
