When I was a kid my dad and I were driving to our sportstraining every saturday. We used to listen to this song everytime. It was weekend, no school, no problems, just me and my dad having a great time! This song brings me back to this good times! Love that dude!

Si la musique actuelle vous emmerde, bienvenu chez, nous les vieux cons ! Sauf que "Comanchero" est l'un des principaux jalons qui a amené la musique d'aujourd'hui, tellement pauvre que des chanteuses sont obligées de secouer leurs culs pour aguicher le djeun, et plus encore à l'euro-dance music (c'était un morceau pour boîtes de nuit "discothèques"). Dans le genre synthétique, il y avait déjà eu des précédents, comme l'Allemand Frank Farian (récemment décédé) sous le nom "Boney M" (avec mannequins danseurs-faux chanteur(s) en playback sur scènes). J'étais un jeune ado musicien en 1985 et "Comanchero" m'avait marqué par son côté très artificiel (musique synthétique, et la petite boucle préenregistrée "Comanchero, comanchero, comanchero, comanchero, oh"), d'autant que le morceau était alors promu sur les radios FM comme "le premier conçu par ordinateur". Heureusement, il y avait une vraie chanteuse pour rattraper le coup, une mélodie aussi sympa que courte... et un effet débridé de réverbération sonore pour donner du relief à la musique en boucles. Je croyais que ce truc pour boites de nuit venait des États Unis, mais je découvre 40 ans après que c'est une production italienne, avec une chanteuse... française qui faisait carrière dans l'italo-disco. Ah ! A l'époque, on entendait quand même beaucoup mieux à la radio, même en pur synthé, même d'Italie ("Self control" de Raf, aussitôt repris par Laura Branigan) ou d'ailleurs (www.chartsinfrance.net/charts/8525/singles.php).

J'avais 18 ans en annee 1985, et j'ai entendu ça à l'institut, j'ai étudié par correspondance parce que je travaillais dans une usine. Je suis seulement allé suivre les séances. Donc, à l'institut, il y avait un tel disque avec cette chanson. J'ai vraiment aimé cette chanson. Quelques mois plus tard, j'ai été enrôlé dans l'armée. À l'automne 85, j'étais déjà dans l'armée, et à l'été 85, avant d'obtenir la fin du cours, j'ai entendu cette chanson pour la première fois avec les garçons et j'ai rencontré pour la première fois avec ma future femme.

The first time I heard the song Comenchero, I was eleven years old, on the seashore in the city of Ras El-Bar, Egypt, in 1983. It was the first time my mother allowed me to travel alone with friends after a strong insistence on my part to agree to travel. This caused me to be late for them, and I traveled alone and searched for my friends in a city that I did not know until after more than an hour of searching, I found them. We spent three days with the family of one of my friends, and on the second day I almost... To drown because I am not good at swimming. In this terrifying moment, I remembered my mother and was afraid that her fear for me was real and that it would be the end. But my friend who noticed me drowning came in silence to pull me back to life despite everything. They were three of the most beautiful days of my life. I will never forget them just as I will never forget these. The song I heard as soon as I got off the train and arrived at the beach in one of the casinos

Periodo d oro per la dance e grandissimi locali io frequentavo una discoteca di Perugia con oltre 3000 persone , qui nel nord dell umbria c era l'imbarazzo della scelta 4 locali immensi sempre affollati co migliaia di giovani .. ne cito uno il Red zone , ci sono decine si video su youtube

I remember this being on the radio in 1984 whilst travelling in Europe. I ended up buying the 12" single in Fnac, Châtelet-Les Halles on the way back to the UK. I still have it of course! Until now (March 2023) I had never seen the video! :O
