The only thing they failed to show was the loading lever dropping down after every shot to bind up the cylinder. Or the hammer sucking out a cap to wedge between the cylinder and the frame.

Beautifull video, but the main spring in the video is from a later model Colt, the Colt Walker uses a very different kind of spring in a V shape.

@@firefoxjb Me too! That is probably why they went to a single arc mainspring on future models. Other improvements were also made as steel technology improved. I wish someone made an attachable stock for the Walker, Whitneyville, and other Dragoon behemoths. We aren't all built with the muscles of Thor.

I'm gonna build one of these as a airsoft revolver Made to shoot 6mm bb's 0.20g. I'll use capgun rings. It'll probably be a 8 shot cylinder.

Walker's don't have straight mainsprings. They have V-springs. At least the originals do and proper reproductions. Cool video otherwise.

Brilliant. If it y make a suggestion:- . It would be better if it were *much* slower with extra slow motion of how the individual components interrelate.

this may sound stupid, but do you have to remove the wedge screw before removing the wedge? I cant get mine out and I'm new to this.

You shouldn't have to. It should just slide over and 'catch' on the screw.

good vid. only problem was you never filled the entire cylinder full of powder. that would over charge it and blow up the gun

Weak cylinders aren't caused overtime. They are caused by poor manufacturing and many Walkers were poorly made.

FlipTheAngryAsian Historically, this is the case for many of the cylinders, but it was meant to be loaded with the full 60 grains. It makes sense to do it that way for the video.

Walkers are very powerful revolvers. This kind of power from a pistol is useful when a horseman needs carbine powder, but can't be dealing with a carbine, so a powerful revolver, capable of the power of a musket or carbine, is desired. These are called Dragoon revolvers. Or at least what I know.

You got the spring wrong.. the walker does not have that type of hammer spring.. that was used on the later designs The hammer also didnt have a bearing roller like that again used on later designs. You also have the screws for the internals all wrong. the threading was on the front of the screw.. not the ends.. again those were used on the later designs.. Do more research next time please
