Thanks for a very helpful video. Just want to add that you also need to set your total screen size in Control > Screen size and count , and in 'LED Screen Settings' > Receiver mapping tab. LEDVision version 9.0+ has removed the net card option, so download version 8.8 as used in this video.

Thanks for the information, I'll make sure to do that next time! I probably won't be making any other videos though about LEDvision because I don't really need to change my colorlight card unless I get another panel 😂

Thanks for the video. Do you know if it’s possible to rotate the orientation? I’m wanting to use p5 but have size constraints where I need to rotate panel and where the long side is up and down. Thanks for the video

I'm pretty sure you can, but I'm not quite sure. I know you can flip them with the arrows going down, but I'm not sure how you do it sideways. I'm not a super experienced LEDvision person so maybe try seeing if there are any tutorials for LEDvison from people who use it more often. Good luck with your project!

Yes I've just done this, it's not difficult. Using LEDVision 8.8: In Control > Screen Size and Count Settings, set screen total width & height. In Control > LED Screen Settings > Receiver Mapping tab, set screen total width & height and check apply boxes. Then in Receiver Parameters tab do Intelligent Setting. In Guide 2 dialog Cabinet Settings set total width & height again. Choose Line Direction > From Bottom to Top (if your display is upside down choose Top to Bottom). In Module Size set height 64 for standard P5 panel. Click Next and go through the other dialogs as appropriate.

Hi Nic, First I want to thank you for making such great videos on what you have created. It really helped me as I made my 20 - P4 panel matrix. It now works with FPP and XLights using a Raspberry Pii 4 and a Colorlight card.. Now I am working on using over 1200 WS2811 12V pixel strings I bought a while ago. I was using Holidaycoro Alphapix16 controllers but they are so out of date now. I would like to make a single strand of about 800 of those pixels to go around my house with power injection. Do you know of a controller that is similar to the Colorlight card that can run off a Raspberry Pii 4 in the same way and control the lights? I tried using generic ESP32 that work great with WLED but I can't seem to get them to work with XLights. I have searched but have not found what would work for me.

Hi Nic, I posted this after trying so many times to get it to work. Luckily after I posted this I was able to get my generic ESP32 to work in XLights. I don't know why it would not work the first 99 times I tried it. Now I have 100 string lights (so far) working well along side the matrix. Thank you again for making your videos that help make doing our setups a little easier.

Sorry for the late reply, but glad you got it working! Have you considered getting a controller that's made for running pixels instead of using an ESP32? There's some controllers out there like Falcon, Kulp, Sandevices, and a few others. I personally use Falcon controllers for my light show, and they are really great. You can connect them to a Pi like with a colorlight card, and they have tons of features. The other controllers can also be ran by the Pi too, and are a little cheaper than Falcon's. You just don't get as many features.

Do you know if we need to target a second color lite card in fpp?

How does one control the brightness of the P5 panel when using a Colorlight card and FPP? I haven't figured out how to control the bright. If using a BeagleBone there is an option in FPP to control the brightness. I asked the vendor that I bought the panel from, but they were no help and their customer support never responded to my questions nearly five days after Christmas even though I asked around 9th of Dec.

I found an old Ron Howard video from 7 years ago. In xlights under the Layout tab, there is an option for "Dimming Curves" where there are some controls. He recommends setting the gamma to 1.8 and brightness to -30. Tests to see how it works within your display. Going to try this and see if that helps. Hopefully it does and this info might help someone else

Usually what I do is just leave all the brightness settings for the effects in Xlights around 60. The only problem with this is if I forget to change even one effect or video to the lower brightness, that part will stay really bright. What you're talking about doing sounds like a good idea, let me know if that works.

My LED matrix uses ICND2153 driver chips. But ik keeps flicikering or giving worg images. Is there a way to fix this? I've tried multiple led matrixes but the same problem appears

I'm not really sure of any solution, I've been having the same problem with my panels too. How many panels do you have per chain? One thing I've heard from someone is that putting less panels on a single chain can help. Other than that, I'm not really a huge expert with the colorlight card. Have you tried searching online to see if you can find any information specifically for your panels and why they might be flickering?

@@How2Pixel I tried using fewer panels per chain, but it didn't make a difference. I contacted an AliExpress seller about the issue, and they suggested updating the receiver card. However, updating a receiver card requires a sending card, which can be quite expansive. You'll also need .hex update file.
