In this video, I'm coloring a page from the gorgeous new coloring book Mythomorphia by Kerby Rosanes and I'm using Prismacolor colored pencils.
The coloring page I chose to do first was this one with a little elf/leprechaun man sitting by a tree. It's so cute, I couldn't resist it.
So I made this into a speed coloring and added some lovely music to the background. Some parts are faster than others such as the background at the beginning and then other parts are not such a fast speed so that it is clear to see what I'm doing for those people who want to see the techniques used.
So the items I used in this video are firstly the Mythomorphia Coloring Book itself, Prismacolor Premier Colored Pencils 150 set, Prismacolor Verithin 36 Set, Prismacolor Colorless Blender, Derwent Electric Eraser and a Derwent Graphik Black Line Painter Penand a Helix Desktop Sharpener.
There are some Amazon Affiliate links below of all the products used. I would be most grateful if you would make your Amazon purchases through one of my links (any amazon purchases at all) as I will receive a small commission which goes towards me producing the videos on this channel. All the Prismacolor's that I used are also listed further below.

    Rebecca that was amazing fun to watch so thank you very much. You colour like a watercolourist, and I mean that in a very complimentary way. I was fascinated by your process. Great video. Much love from cold Perth, Western Australia ❤❤❤

    Absolutely superb and a delight to watch. I have learned from your colour choices for your mushrooms and leaf 🍁 foliage. Great colour choices throughout your artwork. Then your creation totally popped when you finished with your outline pen. Absolutely fabulous!!! 🥰🌟🥰

    No, I haven't put anything on it. I'm not sure if that's ok or not. I'll have to wait for a while and check that they are still ok. Just working on that Cleopatra page in Mythomorphia with Cotman Watercolours and a bit of gouache. I'm hoping to get it finished and uploaded to youtube on Sunday :-)

    My favourite bit was the Derwent Black Graphik Line Painter at the end (for obvious reasons) lol.🙄 Do you have the Sakura Sigma Microns as well? They are really good too as there are various nib sizes to choose from. I could place one in a compass if I wanted to. Unfortunately, the Derwents are slightly too fat for that but I still love them anyway. How are you by the way? Is the weather good where you are? It's lovely here. Makes me feel more alive, do you know what I mean?

  • @TheArtSpirits

    @TheArtSpirits

    7 жыл бұрын

    Hahaha yes, I thought you might like that bit lol. I did try a 01 Micron at first but it kept clogging up with wax from the pencil so I had to switch to the Line Painter. As it's paint, I had no problem other than it was a bit thick for the face lines. Yes, the weather is gorgeous here although I've been stuck inside all day editing this video lol (plus around 5 hours yesterday). I know what you mean though, it just lifts the spirits when the weather is nice. How you doing? Did you try those new pencils?

  • @JaneMetcalfe

    I'm OK thanks. A couple of weeks ago I was at Mum's for the week (I tend to visit every 6 weeks or so) and it was lovely weather but that really freezing wind, remember? It's been a lot warmer since I got back lol. I have tried the Prismacolors and I do like them but I'm not sure if I'll buy any more. The Lightfast ones are no different to the Premiers in my opinion. Did you know that Derwent do Graphik Line Markers for drawing with? They might come in handy for your drawings as they are similar to the Microns..different nib sizes. They sell them on Crafty Arts lol. Even I haven't got round to buying those..yet. I might do once the Microns run out..which will be a VERY long time I reckon! They do last ages!

    I do have one of those pens Jane. It came in a subscription box and it's in sepia. I have been tempted to buy some other colours but have so far managed to restrain myself as I really don't need them. I have some microns and also the steadtler coloured fineliners and the Ironlak Waterbased fineliners so I just can't justify the purchase lol. I do want them though :-)

    snake135 eBay au has them. Look for Prismacolor singles from carlisleartau. They are postage free only in Australia. When Prismas are on sale at Amazon US I found it cheaper to buy 150 set. Worked out 80c for each single while in Australia eBay they are $2.95. Still not bad if you only need a colour or a few with no postage costs. Hope that helps :)

    Yes, I'm probably not going to be doing anymore of these fast ones. I think it would be better to just cut out small sections of the whole coloring and play them in real time or just slightly faster. I think that would be better than trying to cram the whole 10 hour colouring into one video, and then having to put it on super fast speed just so the video won't be too long.😁
