I love how it looks like Kennith is just in his garage with a bunch of TV's and other devices that he's tinkered with, because that's where he was in the song (at least if I remember correctly, I don't have good memory). He also almost sounds a bit softer in the beginning, almost as if he's not sure if he should really be doing this, but he ends up gaining confidence and his voice gets more powerful.

I have a personal headcanon that Kenneth wasn't literally 'hypnotized' when he started the translation, I think he just didn't KNOW that the broadcast is on. I was thinking if he and that friend of his planned to just fool around with the TVs and the VHS recorder to make a home video in the style of communication intrusion, but it was actually live and when Kennith realized it, it was too late already.

I've listened to the original Colorbars a lot. But I just love this remake so much, I've been listening to it on repeat for the last few weeks. Everything about it is amazing from the art to the song. Your work here has been brilliant. Also I have a very vague understanding of the plot of Colorbars, but I've been wondering if someone could please explain Broadcast Illusion to me. The only other songs I've listened to in the communications series are Rotary Dial and Housewife Radio. So was Broadcast Illusion a remake or was it a sequel to Colorbars? If someone would be able to explain it to me, I'd be very thankful.

@@BlueberryBubbles110 Part 1/? So to explain Colorbars/Broadcast Illusion, we kinda have to know the full context. It starts with Stephanie glass, Stephanie is kind and optimistic but can be insensitive. In 7th grade, she suffered a severe head injury in a car crash, this caused her to go deaf. This didn’t stop Stephanie tho, she continued normal life. A year later, Stephanie and her family move to a town in Michigan’s upper peninsula. Stephanie did have to adjust to a new environment, but it didn’t stop her from anything. Then comes in Kennith Simmons, he grew up in this town, throughout his childhood he was friendless and bullied. No one seemed to care, not even his parents. He was bullied for expressing himself masculine some days, and feminine the next. He was primarily targeted for being gay, which he couldn’t exactly deny. He decided to teach himself a way around electronics. And by Highschool he was making money and repairing or modifying electronics for people around town. Due to Stephanie’s inclusive nature, she was quick to notice Kennith. Kennith didn’t really trust her at first, he thought maybe she was one of those kids who would pretend to be friendly. Stephanie persisted and Kennith eventually warmed up. They quickly became close friends. Years later, they became distant friends with a man named Greg Hoffman. Despite good periods, Kennith still struggled with mental health, often having breakdowns. Stephanie, having NO personal experience with this, tried her best to be supportive, but lacked the ability to truly understand how Kennith felt. This is why Stephanie came off as insensitive. During senior year, the insensitivity went too far and they argued. Stephanie wanted Kennith to stop self-harming, but she didn’t understand that it isn’t easy. Kennith got mad at this because he thought she was oversimplifying what he was dealing with, making Stephanie feel as if he was upset to be stubborn. A heated argument stemmed and they parted ways. The previous year, a new student named Evelyn Jacot initiated friendship with Kennith. She was a weird kid, she seemed way too interested in Kennith’s life. They often hung out while Kennith worked on electronics. Eventually they got close and he opened up about how Stephanie treated his self-harm and mental state. Evelyn wanted to test Kennith’s skills. She wanted to see Kennith hack a national broadcast that could hypnotize people. Kennith thought it was a cool idea, and it would be very cool but very illegal. When it came to his realization that Evelyn was serious, he rejected the offer. This is when Evelyn used Kennith and Stephanie’s fallout to manipulate him. He said he would build it, but would only test it on a small local station.
