The Camp Chef does have a water tank just so you all know!! also, a slight upgrade to the Camp Chef is to put a gasket around the door to make it more airtight and last longer through the night🙂 One thing about the camp Chef is with the longer chimney you get a better draft, and no smoke enters the room when you open the door 🙂 Very heavy duty and a lot cheaper 🙂

Exactly. I love my alpine stove. Add a gasket around the door and have a long stovepipe. Works great.

i love my alpine stove,i had to upgrade to a 6 inch pipe for using in my shed..12 by 16. couldnt find 5 inch 45s

Nice review. As for the difference in the legs, it would be quite easy to drill and tap the Spruce for wing nugs. Also, it wouldn't hurt to put some Never-Seize on the threads. It would be nice if the wingnuts were similar to wood clamps where a rod can slide back and forth allowing more leverage and therefore not requiring pliars etc. I am still lusting a Kodiak tent.

camp chef also makes a water tank

Id like to see a video comparing the cheaper Vevor stove like these. It seems to be a step above the other ultra cheap alternatives as it weighs 50 something pounds vs the other cheaper ones that are only around 20 pounds according to product specifications so I assume the others are very thin metal. That spruce and camp chef are great but more pricey

The water tank on the spruce stove is a huge upgrade over the Alpine stove. It allows you to have constant hot water for a host of things to accomplish. for me it is a game changer.

James Gacki The Camp Chef stove also has a water tank, the problem with any of these tanks are, the water keeps evaporating as the stove gets hotter and can boil dry.

Hey man. I was thinking about getting one of these for my patio and putting it on my table. Would it keep everyone warm or does it only work well in a tent or garage.

Great question. I really don't think it would work well on a patio. It directs most heat right out the stove pipe.

They are designed to heat up an enclosed tent or small home. However is the wind was not bad and not to cold, it would beat an open Bonfire And be much safer. kind of an open question because you don't say what state you're in or what altitude what the temperatures are you're going to be facing so what the winds are like all those are major factors if you enclose the area you know you have it on a patio if you close your area for some tarp or you know louvers or something then it would it would help a lot. I love an open fire but these things I like him because you can cook on them you can bake you can cook inside of them cook on top of them you can get an oven to go on top of it and be baking pizza or cakes or cookie or bread or whatever. I sold these in 1999 Y2K I sold more stoves and ovens than anybody in the country except for Cabela's catalog. We heated with it for two Winters and Kansas and I've heated with it and two Winters here in Missouri so I know them inside and out. I'm just now getting back into selling stoves like this and one of them talking a couple of the manufacturers about them I want to deal with the best one that's probably going to be Cedar City cylinder stoves cuz of the original designer manufacturer and inventor everybody else just stealing them from them Colorado Cylinder Stoves understand are just knock offs, stealing the design from them you know... The fact that this guy burned off and I'm not knocking him he's learning as he's going just like everybody else would but I can't believe that they sold galvanized pipe you can see that that pipe changing color that's galvanized pipe it's poisonous gases it puts off and I think even cylinder stoves is doing that now very disgusting there's some stainless steel pipe and only stainless steel pipe with these things or black pipe that's the only two options should not be in the mix at all ever.

My only question is will the camp chef heat the 12'×12' as well as the other? Im thinking of going with the 12'×12'. Id rather have extra space than not enough. Also i know you don't want to do a lot of frying in your tent( floating grease makes a nadty

From my personal tests, yes, it heats it up just as well. In fact, you have to look closely to even tell the difference between the two.

I have Camp Chef stove. Looks like Colorado chimney sections are a better fit and was wondering if the Colorado 5''-6'' pipes fit the Camp Chef stove??

@@Competitiveedgeproducts nope... falls through will gap around stove hole. Need to made a ring that sits on top of camp chef stove or maybe a sleeve that fits in stove hole. I just love the Colorado stove pipes how far they slide together. No need to screw those bad boys together. They won't tip.

@@Competitiveedgeproducts the stove pipes that came with my Camp Chef stove. After burning in the paint the 4 sections I put on were all leaning one way or the other. They don't slide together nearly as well as the Colorado stove pipes.

I made a sleeve at work for my Camp Chef stove to accept the Awesome 5x6 colorado nesting stove pipe. Fits like a glove now. Made sleeve O.D 4.99 I.D. 4.875 x 1.5 long. Used Dremel sanding wheel to get what I want. Tapped sleeve down with rubber mallet to stop at the 4 stop points in the stove sleeve. It sticks up 1/2 '' past stove top but looks great. Colorado stove pipe goes down 1.5 just to bottom of original camp chef stove hole ring. Very happy. Put 2 coats of high temp paint As well before inserting my sleeve.

Do you know why Kodiak only recommends the Colorado spruce in their cabin tents?

My understanding is that is the first stove they've tested and confirmed that it's compatible. There are so many stove configurations and I believe that for liability purposes they feel comfortable having a single go-to that they can confidently recommend.

How long does the stove burn for how many hours you get out of it? Does anybody know?

I believe so, but you'd need to check with the manufacturer's for specific models. Camp Chef is headquartered in Hyde Park, Utah and Colorado Cylinder in...well, Colorado.

I looked into it and Colorado spruce sources 95% of their parts from America. Camp Chef has headquarters in Utah, but the parts come from China…

@@tonycaine5930 It is not about race. It is about quality. Much of what comes out of Chinese manf. has quality issues....both in material and workmanship. That being said, there are American companies that use Chinese manufacturing and get good products manufactured there. However, they incur a lot of expense, time, and effort enforcing design and material criteria.
