    Add on room for the 10 by 10 cabin tent would be awesome

  • @Competitiveedgeproducts
    @Competitiveedgeproducts6 күн бұрын

    Would definitely be awesome. There's a 10x10, 12x12, and 12x16. The manufacturer decided that people going with one as small as 10x10 are the least likely to want to expand it with an add-on room. So, the other two larger sizes have receiving zippers to attach the add-on room 1672, but the 10x10 simply doesn't and likely won't in the future either.

    Hi there, I just got the jacket this morning and it is really smelly. I put it out in the sun trying to make the smell go. Do you have any ideas on how to make that smell go away faster?

  • @Competitiveedgeproducts
    @Competitiveedgeproducts22 күн бұрын

    The smell should diminish with time. Sun-treating it would be my first go to as well. I know you can use more tricks such as using activated charcoal or baking soda. huckberry.com/journal/posts/gear-lab-wax-outerwear-care-guide-with-nick

    How long does the stove burn for how many hours you get out of it? Does anybody know?

  • @Competitiveedgeproducts
    @Competitiveedgeproducts22 күн бұрын

    Thank you for your question! The burn time of the stove can vary based on several factors, such as the type of fuel used, the size of the fuel load, and the intensity of the burn. With a full load of wood: You can typically expect a burn time ranging from 3 to 5 hours on average, assuming you’re using standard hardwoods like oak or maple. For a more controlled burn: You might extend this to around 7 hours if you carefully manage the airflow and use dense, slow-burning wood. For a hotter, more intense burn: The burn time might decrease to around 2-3 hours if the stove is fully open and burning rapidly.

    I have this tent with all the accessories. Ground cloth and top cover. I spend the winter in it out in the desert southwest. It is a solid tent in the wind and with the addition of the top cover and four guy lines it becomes even more solid in the wind. I have replaced the awning poles with adjustable poles and that gets rid of the rain pooling on the awning. I have also replaced the stakes with Ground Grabba stakes. This tent is rock solid in wind exceeding 45 MPH. It does flap some in a wind, but hey, its made of canvas. If you use cots it does become a two person tent as stated. Great Tent, buy one!!!

    How do you keep the roof clean!? And you dont use a rain fly?

  • @Competitiveedgeproducts
    @Competitiveedgeproducts22 күн бұрын

    I don't do anything to the roof other than sweep it off with a broom if there's Pineneedles or anything. Sometimes people will scrape off sap and clean off the dirt, but it really doesn't look bad at all like it gets used. It doesn't look bad I think, it wears really well. My oldest tent is about 16 or 17 years now and I have yet to had to do any scrubbing on the roof other than just taking a broom and wiping any dirt off.

    Really enjoy all of your videos. Question is when planning overall size of tent “area” how many feet would you add to the footprint for guy lines. For example the 12x16 is actually a __ x __ footprint. Thanks!

    First off thank you for the videos. After lots of researching your video on the 12x12 convinced my to buy and I have not been disappointed. I am looking at this tent for just my family of 4 and on the description on Bass Pro it says it will only sleep 2 with a stove in there. Is there a small stove that will keep it warm where I can fit my 4 bodies in there with a stove?

  • @Competitiveedgeproducts
    @CompetitiveedgeproductsАй бұрын

    I'm glad the videos were helpful. For liability purposes, we can't recommend smaller stoves. These have been tested with the alpine camp chef stove and the colorado spruce stove - each has a 5" pipe. I think Bass Pro is just being ultra-conservative in their estimate. If you're family includes children you should easily be able to sleep 4 of you.

    I have a family of 6, two adults and four kids 10 and under. Would the 12x12 suffice with the add-on room or would the 12x16 be better? The tent would be used for camping in the summer with everyone, and in the fall with a few adults for hunting. Thanks.

    That cabin tent reminds me of my parents old tent that we had growing up. That thing was still going strong when my parents finally threw it out. Now I just have to debate between the cabin tent with the awning or the flexible 10x14 for my family. Quick question… does/can the canopy on the cabin tent separate from the tent? I could see for camping with the whole family using it, but maybe not so much if it’s just me and my kids and maybe for a day or 2. Thanks for the informative video and thanks for hopefully answering my question!

    Looking into purchasing the 12x16 tent. Does the colorado spruce stove warm the entire tent? My concern is will the stove keep someone sleeping at the back of the tent warm? Or would you recommend the larger stove? Love all the videos you put up on the kodiak tents. Ive watched numerous videos of all brands and think im going with the kodiak 12x16
