Geoff Williams I wouldn't say that Hillary stole the 2016 primaries....inasmuch as it is the reality that the system is so deeply corrupted that corporate money has waaaaaay too much influence and say over the direction of U.S. politics. As it stands...the current U.S. political system will simply not allow economic populists like a Bernie Sanders to stand a meaningful chance of getting heard on the national stage. It will likely take a massive populist political uprising to change this situation. Those situations tend to get pretty bloody. Think back to the Union workers versus the Corporations/Pinkerton pitched battles of the Post-civil war Industrial era of the USA. Any change for the better in the USA comes at a significant cost.

Kinsey does resemble trump. The reason why hillary was attacked until her election ended, is because they NEEDED A republican president in the white house, they dint care if he was the worst president, they refuse for any actual change to society, They dint want want obamas affordable care act, they denied climate change, and enviromental problems(like green energy). Also Russia, aka rigged the elections by leaking the documents in order to prevent hillary from winning, they know that a republican president will not bother with russian politics in anyway. Also the people who voted for trump, did it for a really stupid reason, just because they wanted to spite her. Trump only won, because of russian interference, and because he was like arnold , he was famous and popular, but in calif, he wasnt a very popular governer. Republicans always supported rich individuals or companies, in return they probably profit as well.

Maybourne was not an evil person. Misguided perhaps, uninformed without a doubt, self important for sure, but not evil. If you really watch, he was always trying to do what he honestly thought was best to insure the safety and security his country and his planet, even if he had to bend the rules to do it. Okay, maybe his country first, but he was career military. As the series went on, he grew, learned and eventually he and Jack even became reluctant allies when the need arose. Jack even seemed to give Maybourne a certain grudging respect, if not complete trust, at the end. That change and growth was why Maybourne was one of my favorite semi-regular characters in the series. As someone else posted, "He went from being the character you loved to hate to the character you hated to love."

US presidential election turnout has been surprisingly low considering that politics there are so pervasive: it's hovering around 55 percent (exception being 2008 when it jumped to 58). Midterm elections is pretty abysmal: starting from 70's, it's been hovering below and up of 40 percent. Except again in 2018 when it jumped to 50.3 percent. Though to be fair, this is a problem common to most established democracies around the globe, not just US. Voting activity has declined steadily since 80's. People have just stopped caring or if they do care, they feel that they can't do anything about it by voting.
