    Ah so cool! I'm an incoming freshman this year and I'm in the new Diamond Village in a single sadly because of COVID but still exciting. I'm looking forward to it. Honestly DU was my dream school ever since middle school since it was close to home and it was such a beautiful campus. I took swimming classes, skating lessons, and gymnastics. Can't wait to become a part of the DU community!

    I’m strongly considering DU, as well as CSU FC and CU Boulder. I’d like to major in business. My biggest concern is honestly the massive price difference. My family makes decent money, but I still struggle to justify the $20,000+ premium for DU. Small classes are really important to me. I don’t want to go to a huge school.

    Cu Denver or msu are really good. From what I’ve heard people absolutely love msu. And cu Denver has a really good business program. What I’ve learned is that you don’t need to go to an expensive school to have a good experience, expensive schools are often pretty lonely. Just go to where ever you can afford, which will typically be a uni that u live close enough to in order to still live at home. Dorms cost way too much.

    I am a junior in Chicago public schools. What was it like going to Denver and just and advice in general regarding the college search process?

  • @LiaStewy

    @LiaStewy

    The lack of diversity was shocking, but it's been growing. Everyone here is really nice and it's a cool change in scenery. The weather is way better than Chicago and there's a lot to do! As for advice, I would say figure out what you need/want most from a college. For me, it was smaller classes in a new state. I hope that helps!!

    As a transfer student they are wanting us to live in TLC housing. Is there anyway to get from underneath that to stay somewhere else a 28 year old coming from Texas? I would prefer university lofts or centennial Towers. Any advice you can offer?

    I'm an undergraduate, so I don't know as much about the graduate program. I'm sorry! But I would say it really depends on what areas the university specializes in. I think that's really important for getting the most out of your masters.

    Help, I need some advice. I'm just starting my college search. My favorite school is Boston College, but I am starting to look at DU. I am a big skier, I ski like 20-30 days a season, in the northeast. I always loved skiing in Colorado, and the thought of only being an hour away from Winter Park is AWSOME! I want to study International Relations, and have a 3.94 GPA out of 4, yet to take the SAT. Should I apply to DU?

  • @LiaStewy

    Yes! There are tons of places to ski that are about an hour's drive (ie breck, keystone, abason). Lots of kids here ski so you can always find a buddy to go with! The International Relations is one of the best majors here! I think you should definitely apply, good luck :)

    so what do you find different about a private university compared to a public? (I'm doing a gap year right now and am going to attend DU next year, but I went to a private Catholic high school and really hated it lmao, so I'm really hoping DU doesn't give off rich private school vibes)

  • @LiaStewy

    @LiaStewy

    To be honest... I feel like it does. But I think it's because I come from a very diverse high school so I was not used to the lack of diversity. On the other hand, all of my friends love it here and everyone can find a sense of community!

    Hi I'm from Chile and I want to study in the US. Can you explain me how "minor and major" work?

  • @dgjevukaj1887

    @dgjevukaj1887

    3 жыл бұрын

    Major is the thing you actually get a degree in, a minor is something you are interested in but aren’t committed to get a full degree in I believe

  • @hopebernhardt5277

    @hopebernhardt5277

    3 жыл бұрын

    so a major is what your degree is in and what your classes will gear towards, a minor is a “smaller” interest so you don’t need as many credits to create a minor because it’s not your “main” (major) focus of your degree but it’s still a focus
