HEY GUYS! I confess I had NO CLUE who TOOL was.....never heard of them. But I gotta say I really liked this song and this band. These guys are obviously very talented and sort of reminded me of the journeys that RUSH would take me on. Good review also! I would listen to more of this band in the future.

The ultimate compliment you can give a song is “ you don’t want it to end”..... That’s TOOL
"We need your help, and your permission. So we need you to find a comfortable space, that's not only comfortable but vulnerable. I want you to shut your eyes and go there, and we'll meet you on the other side (echo)..." - Maynard from Pushit on Salival. Great one!

My favourite live performance from TOOL by far! And one of the best live performances I've ever listened to, by far!
"I wonder if we'll be able to tell the difference in when one song stops and one song starts" - I'm sitting here thinking 'Oh believe me, you'll be able to tell' :D This song(songs?) is one of my favorites from them. It meant alot to me back when it first came out. Glad you guys are enjoying the Tool thus far. Hopefully we don't steer you wrong at some point in one of these polls.

If you're going to follow the whole journey that leads to Wings for Marie you need to dig into A Perfect Circle as well, with Judith, and Jimmy, from Aenima. It's worth doing as a full video. If you can keep from crying, because I can't, even after 100 listens.
Haven't seen it mentioned too many times, but another Tool song you guys need to do is Eulogy. My personal favorite by them and a hard hitting chorus.

Eulogy was the first tool song i listened too and my god it literally is a display of probably the best musicians in the world. No joke and i can’t think of another band with the talent everyone has in this band besides Rush and Led Zep.
@matthewkologi6833
4 жыл бұрын
I listened to Eulogy on repeat for about 6 months every time I got in my car in 1998. I got sucked in and refused to listen to anything else. After 6 months, I allowed the cd to move on to the next songs. Then, I got to Aenema, and I hit the repeat button again for another few months. Don’t get me wrong, every song was amazing, but those two awoke something in me. I went from being just a big Tool fan, to completely obsessed. I bought Salival, just as a way to hold me over, only to lose my mind over how insane it was. I stood in line for hours to buy Lateralus at midnight on the day it was released. I was not disappointed. I bought 10,000 Days in Kyrgyzstan, on my way home from Afghanistan, and it helped me cope with a lot of loss and sadness. Now, with Fear Inoculum, I’ve come full circle and it has again allowed me to feel a lot of joy and positive introspection. No music has ever reached me like theirs, and I seriously doubt anyone else will even come close.
It’s the way you both closed your eyes as he started to sing :)
You've got to do the Holy Trinity. Disposition - Reflection - Triad.

You guys are awesome. I couldn't have picked a better couple of tracks for you guys to listen to. It reminds me of when my dad started showing me Led Zeppelin. There's something really cool about diving into a band's collection well after it's out. I love the sense of discovery, and watching someone else go through it is almost as satisfying. Keep it up!
Fun Fact: The last few guitar notes are a tribute to the band YES and their song Roundabout. You should check it out!
Love to see you guys listening to Tool again, you guys really seem to get it. I'm currently hiking 1200 miles from the top of Scotland down to the bottom of England and I really enjoy watching your videos on my hike. Your also totally right on Maynard's voice being an instrument in its own right. Keep it up my dudes, I'm a big fan.
A Perfect Circle - Judith Tool - Wings for Marie (Pt 1) Tool - 10,000 Days (Wings Pt 2) These 3 should be listened to in sequence
Bands like Pink Floyd, Grateful Dead and The Doors, and now today’s generation “TOOL”, they all really took/take you on a musical journey and tap into your subconscious. It’s not about being “rockstars”, it’s about the feeling and deep emotions, things you’ve never thought about and thinking outside the box and Those aspects of music are way more important.

Hi from the UK, Love your channel, always quality music and always see your passion for real music. I love as soon as the music plays you guys close your eyes, and feel it. LEGIT REACTION CHANNEL!
Schism had been around for awhile when the album was released, but after that this was the first song(s) I found myself wanting to come back. Still get serious chills everytime from "Aliiiiive...", not to mention how F! beautifully and delicately the Parabol segment is executed. You will really appreciate how Parabol follows Schism once you get around to listening to the whole album.
The sensation you got when you said it felt like 3 minutes.... I got that feeling at their concert in Amsterdam last June. The show ended and I was like, but it has only lasted 30 minutes!(2 hours really)! Wanted moooore

Brian Hurst I honestly couldn’t pick a favorite Tool song but, H. would be a pick if I had to choose, really is such a powerful and beautiful song
You definitely have to hear them a few time to really appreciate what they are doing. There are a whole lot of really cool parts that you don’t really catch the first time you listen to it only because there is so much to listen for. Like you were saying, y’all will definitely begin to appreciate this song a lot more the more you listen. I found myself listening to it a few times then kinda putting it away, and the next time I listened about a week later I already knew what to except and it made the experience even better than before
You guys are awesome! 10,000 days came out when I was a freshman in college and you guys constantly remind me of our listening sessions we used to have in the dorm!

I like the somber parabol, the little mini solo, and how he sings the chorus low, and then an octive higher the second time. Speaking if those middle eastern melodies, there’s a similar feel in their song “Reflection.” I’m sure y’all will get around to it, can’t wait for Disposition/Reflection

So difficult to try and rate Tool songs. My favorite is which ever one I am listening to at the time. You guys need to check out a song or two from Opiate their first ep. Songs are shorter but killer and raw. Maybe Cold and Ugly or Jerk off, both are live and kick ass. Play them both back to back. Also Please check out Black Diamond from KISS 1975 promo. I would really like to see what you have to say from a younger perspective good or bad regarding old school KISS. Later guys keep doing what you are doing. Great reactions.
Also...love the confused "how the fuck is this, THIS GOOD? This shit is nuts." look on Andy's (left) face after Parabola breaks.
As mentioned by other, Ticks and Leeches is a must. Also check out Thirdeye

These guys are cool AF! Way cool that they recognize Tool is a force to be reckoned with!!
Everything about Lost Keys Rosseta Stoned is mind blowing Danny's drumming is not human and Maynard the way he delivers the vocals omfg. The song is about a guy who get abducted by Aliens. Its outta this world.
Jambi or Flood or Third Eye or I could list off every song in their catalog. Another great reaction, guys!
I don't know who is Alex or Andy, but the reaction of the guy wearing the Pink Floyd shirt reminded me of Dave Bowman final words entering the monolith in "space odysey" with the famous line "My God, it's full of stars!" Good reaction guys, you were both trippin on the music. ps. saw them late saterday live on Werchter in Belgium, and it was an experience, I was baffeld the entire concert.
There needs to be more reactions to the new song Invincible. There are really good live versions of it out there especially the 4k one in berlin, germany. Everyone that has reacted to it reacted to the very first version released with all the fans talking over it. Absolutely amazing song....
Listen to third eye and feel your mind melt. That song.....bring your biggie boi pants 😉
Okay, I think I'm a Tool convert... Almost. Alex, thanks for pinpointing the opening vocalizing. I was thinking India or Tibetan flavor. Truly, I think I could listen to the singer do a free flow vocalization, without words and still have the same effect? Could be wrong, but the music is so powerful... No words. Thanks for the intro! Peace.
Saw them for the first time 2 nights ago. Amazing experience. Unfortunately they didn’t play parabol before parabola. Still incredible though. Can’t wait for the new record

Danny, the drummer is the source of the middle eastern instruments. His drum teacher got him to use tablas,Indian drums, you can hear that in Right in Two a lot. Also these 2 songs are as unique as it gets in my opinion. It is kinda more raw compared to other songs on Lateralus but it is because they want you to get the message clearly. This song is about celebrating life, and knowing youre not alone which is rare as hell in metal.
Awesome work on your comments for the song!.. I like the way you discuss what song you like better and why! Very entertaining!... But man, you gotta do f*cking JAMBI from 10.000 days (same álbum as THE POT)

I love the ending of this song!
Hi guys, listen SOEN : Tabula rasa, pluton, the words, lotus, paragon.
This is a real reaction, just vibing, feeling.
I'll admit at first, I first I wasn't a huge fan of the song, but after taking Alex's advice of closing my eyes while listening to the song, I DEFINITELY liked a lot more. As soon as I opened my eyes, I was like "What just happened, where am I?". I love the bass riff in the beginning and the drumming was fantastic, who knew people still drummed like that in the 2000s?!?!? But I also liked when Alex brought up how the mid-western and south African harmonies reminded him of his father because it just shows how powerful music really is and we can relate it to our daily lives. It truly is amazing! With that being said, can't wait for your guys next reaction. When is the next weekend podcast by the way? Because I really enjoyed the last one and I'm looking forward to hearing what you guys will talk about next!

@@andyandalex I totally agree, I feel that when listening to music, closing your eyes helps you get into the zone. Oh and for the podcast, take your time. I won't put you guys "under pressure", haha get it? :) But like I mentioned before, I bet an old music verses new music topic would be a cool debate (maybe 70s - 90s vs. 2000s - present or something like that). I originally wanted 70s vs. 80s music but so much has happened in the music industry since then that it needs to be talked about! Alex suggested a classic vs. modern music.
FINALLY!!! Y'all have been deprived for too long... Lol🤯🤯🤯
Eyes closed and feelin it. That's how it's done!
"Let TOOL take the wheel" truer words were never spoken 💯
The official Tool video for this is kinda trippy. Worth the watch!
You want to listen to some tracks from King Crimsons 'Discipline' album from 1981 if you want to know where Tool got their sound from
I was going to watch something else but saw this pop up...the other can wait. 🤘
Tool is about layers and texture. The trip from silence to rage and everything in between.
Gregorain Chant is the style of the opening. This is one top 5 Tool tracks, due the spiritual feel and lyrical meaning. All This Pain is an Illusion is tatood on more people then you could imagine. D/R/T is the best track ever, it's like this journey but for 24 minutes. You can mediate to it. I have for almost 20 years.
That outro...fucking goosebumps every time. Now go watch the official video so it can blow your mind all over again.
Can you imagine the hype over this song when it was first released and everyone was hearing it for the first time?. I remember seeing the music video a lot on MTV I believe lateralus is their best album. If you consider what's on it.
It's unfortunate that this video's thumbnail shows Alex with 'Tool' written above his head 😬😏
