College Series '24 | E.J. Warner - Episode #1 | Kurt Warner Breaks Down the Game Tape
Спорт
As we continue to prepare for the NFL draft, welcome to another episode of StudyBall. We're currently evaluating various quarterbacks. I've mentioned before that this task is quite challenging because the college game differs significantly from what many of these players will be required to do in the professional league. However, every year, I make an effort to analyze either a portion of tape or one whole game for each of these quarterbacks. By doing so, I aim to glean insights from the entire game, observing the highs and lows, the good and the bad. Instead of simply putting together a highlight tape, I prefer to scrutinize every aspect of their performance.
Recently, someone on Twitter asked me how these quarterbacks compare to my son, as I have a son entering his third year of college football. He played two years at Temple and just transferred to Rice, where he will be playing this fall. He's a talented quarterback who was a top-five player in the nation last year. To address this question, I've decided to conduct a little experiment. I invite you to participate by watching this video.
First, I'll be breaking down one of my son's games, analyzing the defensive strategies employed and his performance in response. Then, I'll move on to analyzing the top six quarterbacks. I want to show you what I look for and how I assess their abilities, particularly in terms of their ability to process information, execute a game plan, and make various types of throws.
Let's dive into the tape on my son, EJ Warner.#riceuniversity #collegefootball #kurtwarner

These analyses are so much better than highlight reels. I just cry when I think of all the pain your evaluations could have saved us Vikings fans the last 45 years...😢😢
Good stuff! So I anticipate that upcoming reviews will be: Caleb Williams Drake Maye Jayden Daniels Bo Nix Michael Pratt JJ McCarthy Michael Penix Spencer Rattler
Should've made him take a gap year to bag groceries

That comes after college.
WOW. Truly coached like an NFL QB. Takes what the d gives him. Eyes down field. 100% gonna be successful in the league.
What a fun surprise, EJ is the personification of the corrections you make in Study Ball, anything you want to break down of his I'm so excited. Hopefully he is the second coming of you, what a tremendous blessing not only to be given a son but the talent level and mental ability to play football. He could have played anything but I think you be biased on that.
EJ goes #1 next year !!!
Love watching the breakdowns of your son. He most certainly looks cerebral out there!
Great footwork, good build and works the entire field. He’s definitely got talent

What’s great footwork in your opinion?

@@travisosheawhen I grade footwork, i like to concentrate on the top of the drop as it is often most telling of ... ok, I don't know what I'm talking about. But, I do watch enough of these videos to repeat what I hear and sometimes sound smart.

@@reidawg72 hahahaha love that you are honest.
After watching your breakdowns of Caleb Williams, I sought out you breakdown of EJ. I was impressed. He's so well coached. I mentioned your channel on my channel, The Cubbears Fan Report. Great work!!
Would love to see you do Michael Pratt from Tulane. Seems like the consensus is he'll probably end up somewhere on day 2 and looks pretty good.
KW love the channel. But can you please upgrade the quality? 720p?
Only sport I follow at the college level is Track and Field 😅
i hope their running a pro style offense at rice.
The undrafted goat at qb
This youngster appears to have somehow picked up some sound behaviors. I wonder where that could have come from... 😂😂 Nice job, pappy! If he cannot start, he should be sought out as a solid backup but his decision making looks better than that. I see him as at least a very, very worthy project that even a team that's set at quarterback would draft by round 3. He's just too smart and observant to ignore. Dedication to the profession should give him a long run in the league. Just my opinions.
Bros glazing
Breaking down your own son is interesting. I have no idea how we can expect you to be objective in your analysis. You're either too easy on him or WAY too hard on him, one or the other!!!

I think I’m just honest… or try to be but watch and see!

I think objectivity starts with oneself. Having excuses for problems, or being too pessimistic about things, are things I would trust Kurt not to do; with himself or with E. J..
