He's trying to question and discredit Matt as a person, and act as if it's a very personal matter that Matt, as a human, is untrustworthy, due to "how he conducted himself in the interview", and by asking "why can't you just believe someone", he's trying to paint a picture of Matt as someone who does not believe in trust, while positioning himself as a champion of trustworthiness, and act as if usually, it would be possible to just believe anyone telling you stuff about themselves, and that Matt is trying to create an untrusting hostile atmosphere. It's not a contradiction. It's much worse. It's a manipulation tactic, and it's well thought of. Of course, it's cheap, and doesn't work on people who actually want to find out the truth, but if you're living in the echo chamber that is wokeism, this kind of fallacy works wonders. The reason he's teaching it is less to define and more to expand our thoughts about the subject. Gender studies are there to be challenging a presumption of truth and ill-defined. What is a woman is a philosophical question that's rather hard to define. By its nature, the question openly invites debate and question. That person is a professor because he understand nuances, unlike Matt Walsh here. Just like Matt, you already form your own presumption of what is "truth" even if it is not true with the observable reality, and the professor took notice of that. He is a sociologist he studies how people interact with one another in society, he is not a biologist therefore what concern to him is not what constitute a biological women but what society view on women and how the concept of a woman interact with society. He already gave Matt the definition, that is a woman is someone who identify as one. Yet again, Matt does not agree with this because he already presuppose what he considered as truth. Again the question is what is a woman, not "what is a biological woman." Nobody claims that one can change their biological sex but they can definitely change one's gender. Nobody claims that biological men can menstruate or be pregnant but "MEN" can which includes TRANS MEN. The fact is that there are both psychological and biological expression of sex. We are now making a distinction between gender and sex to describe the psychological and sociological aspect of sex. The professor is clearly right to probe around Matt's motivation because it is clear that Matt is not engaging in good faith and does not care about actual truth. What Matt want is daily genital inspection. Because the professor is right. Why does he care about someone's identity? Sure they can lie, but then how do you even know if they are telling the truth without the implication that you must pull down their pant to check their genital? Do you go out and question every single person about their gender identity? No, because I assume that you are not a psychotic freak like Matt. Would you go out of your way to refer to someone like Buck Angel a woman? No. Most normal person would go by their observation. If they look like a woman then they are a woman, and if they look like a man then they are a man. And if they correct you then don't be an asshole. You wouldn't go out of your way to address people by a different name than the one they have? Why exactly are people making it an issue? Everything is already been established.

Matt Walsh should have went with the fact that definitions are what ties everything together. If “woman” doesn’t exist by definition, then the rights of women are null and void. The same goes for humanity in that if a human cannot be defined, then the rights of a human person is null and void. By fact that plants and animals are self sustaining without our existence as they had been before we were here, then our purpose to exist is not required. By it being not required, means that our purpose hangs on the balance of what we are and why we’re here. Knowledge is gained through definitions (ie what is a planet? What is a star? What is a plant? Why is an animal?) so then if that is crippled, then the overall goal in which to learn is self-defeating.

@@wuttabop782 Get lost with that commie horsecrap. The question isn't what is feminine but what is a woman. We do sports, bathrooms, sex change operations, etc based on that biological designation. Your argument is disingenuous and illogical.

"you keep invoking the word truth, which is condescending and rude" When somebody says that, you know they know nothing about anything and can't tie their own shoes. Edit: this is the prime example of someone trying to shut down because they don't want to face *reality* My man said the word "truth" and "reality" and he's got this manchild squirming in his own skin.
