What did Caleb Williams achieve for Oklahoma? He was the first QB for OU to not win the Conference Championship in seven years. First QB to lose to Oklahoma State in seven years. Almost lost to Kansas (Scoreless in the first half). Single-handedly Lost to Baylor. If any other QB for OU had done that, they would be looking to the Portal to replace him. And they did.

Or, it makes perfect sense. The whole college football landscape is changing with NIL deals. He is one of the hottest players in college football right now and just moved to one of the biggest markets in the country, while also signing the biggest NIL deal on record. He is going to go on these shows to build his brand and, apparently, boost the causes he cares about. I could see something similar for guys at his level, like Bryce Young or CJ Stroud, but they don't play in big national markets.

Caleb is a dynamic athlete. Period. No doubt about it. That said I do think his NIL experience has tainted his outlook on real life. First; Lincoln Riley will NOT develop his talent into a first round pick. Riley is an illusion. He inherited Mayfield, and Murry. Hurts was already a stud under Sabin. I wish Williams the best. (hell he helped us beat Texas)( In Oklahoma that is special) As it looks for the future for me I see second day pick. With Riley he will be running for his life. Never an O Line

Anybody willingly choosing to be in Alabama instead of Los Angeles has a lot of brain-training left to do.

We’ll always have Texas, but I think he made a grievous error leaving a team primed with talent for one with a terrible offensive line and zero talent on the defense. Caleb’s scrambling ability is his greatest asset and he’s going to need it as he runs for his life for the next two years. Any quarterback making a move (pro or college) first question should be, “how good is the offensive line where I am going.” Of all the possible suitors on his list, he chose the one with the absolute worst offensive line, hands down. No USC QB the last three seasons has escaped injury. Won’t see Aaron Rogers or Tom Brady make that mistake. They’re too smart. Every QBs success begins with his offensive line. USC got a bunch of transfers to fix this but will take long time to gel. Riley’s system is very difficult for o-linemen. That’s one of the reasons OU lineman actually look better as pros than in college. There is a reason o-line coach Bill Bedenbaugh didn’t follow Reily to USC and it’s because he was tired of struggling to block those schemes. It’s why the line looked so much better in the bowl game after Lincoln was gone because they stopped that crap.

@@bisonking7 No Lincoln will let freshman talk in LA. Because it's a different type of media market. USC is competing for coverage with the Clippers Lakers Rams Kings Dodgers Chargers and the Two soccer teams.. So he has to be media friendly now .

CW will always be remembered for the 2021 RRR more than anything. At USC he'll be a wasted talent and probably wanting to transfer next year. But hey, he'll get some good temporary $.
