@@anyadraves9455 Welcome to Philadelphia. Just as a heads up you might want to not go out at night and you need to be aware of your surroundings.

My daughter applied to most of the same schools. Music performance major. She applied to Madison as a safety. She got into Cornell, Oberlin, UCLA, CalArts and a few top conservatives. We decided to visit Madison because they offered a full ride including transportation and spending money (for music that’s insane!) The horn professor taught at Princeton and Juilliard for almost 2 decades and is a top horn professor in the country,, they really meshed. Many of their school of music graduates have gone on to play in major orchestras. Mead Witter at Madison is a top music school… all that said, she fell in love with her safety. Good for me. I’m not paying for her tuition . At first I was shocked, she was valedictorian, 34 on ACT. 4.0/4.3 GPA. I thought she would choose Oberlin or UCLA, they are both in the top 5 for music. I must say, I’ve been so very surprisingly impressed with Madison. Congrats to you! You had a great list to choose from. My daughter really wanted Brown, they emailed her 3 days before Ivy day asking for more info so she was over the moon excited and thought she had a shot. Big no from Brown. For music majors, it’s all about the professor who is teaching your instrument. They are the ones who help you get to where you want to go. Watching this has me realizing that us parents put way to much pressure on school. In the end my daughter worked her ass off and then turned down higher ranking schools for Madison. I am confident she picked the best place. Your video was so fun to watch. I loved that you got off UPenn’s waitlist. In 2022 NO ONE was getting off waitlists. They all had more applicants than ever. I haven’t checked to see if you made a stats video but I am curious if you haven’t. The reason my daughter didn’t do to Cornell is because even though it’s an Ivy, she didn’t mesh with the horn professor and it’s too far outside of NYC to get music gigs on Broadway. I’m really relieved she didn’t pick Cornell. Wisconsin I can drive to in a day, Cornell is a plane ride and a two hour car ride. Best of luck to you at University of Pennsylvania. Guessing you have just moved in. Two of my dearest friends are UPenn graduates. One also went to med school there. She is wealthy AF. My other friend is a trust fund baby and has been teaching yoga part time for 25 years. Both had the best experiences there and still talk so fondly of it to this day. Only downside is that it’s the orange Cheeto’s alma mater 😂. Looking forward to seeing more college videos. P.S. I laughed so hard after you learned you got into UPenn and your mom said something about do you really want to leave Georgetown for that? . “Are you kidding me???” 🤣😂🤣. You had pretty much made it clear early in the video how much you wanted UPenn. Us moms don’t always want our kids to actually go to an Ivy, it’s so stressful and so much pressure. We just want the bragging rights to say you got in- and then we hope you choose a really good one a tier down ❤️My daughter would have totally gone to Brown though had she gotten in. ❤️❤️❤️. You will do amazing kid.

Omg I’m class of 26 too and I felt you almost every moment of this video. I got into (and committed) to UCLA too! And I got waitlisted at BU and felt THE EXACT SAME WAY you did. With regard to BU, sometimes middling schools will reject excellent students because these schools assume that they're safety choices for these students, and that these applicants will likely go elsewhere.

heyy, samee im in 10th gradee, and one tip ,i would suggest is start getting top grades on your exams since 9th -12 th grade, u can score a sharp 4.0 gpa once u start getting top marks in 9th to 12th and another thing to do is have a lot of achievements,certificates, extracurriculars, i wish i knew bout this in 9th, but atleast you know now:)

Your mom saying check the price and program is so real for that. I only applied to 3 schools. Two were in state and one was a reach (UT at Austin) because it was my dream school. I’m grateful I went to state though because I ended up switching from business to premed and I wouldn’t have been able to afford to do that at UT. I have med school application happening next year and my new dream school is NYU. But my plan is to do early decision for my current school for the instate scholarships, and if I don’t get in, do another gap year and then apply to 15-20 schools because at that point I lose 300k every year I don’t get in. It may be glamorous but I would not be able to get any financial aid if I did get the chance to go somewhere with a crazy reputation (sorry it’s 11pm 3 weeks before finals in my junior year and I’m taking an MCAT prep course during the summer and TENSE)

I know you are over joy with UPenn, but I think as CA you should go to UCLA, and probably apply Berkeley even though you are from there. If you really care about brand there always grad school, you shouldn't go to UPenn just be it's ivy league, and based on the major I saw you got accepted. Just my 2 cents

But my school is pretty big like 1000 people but the curriculum I chose was liberal arts and I know I want to try out for cheer. I’m also in JROTC because it’s an easy A pretty much. What extra curriculums do you think I should do I enjoy writing.

“BU has a really not that low acceptance rate that’s a bad sign” oof you sound really bad-mannered. There acceptance rate is 14% just 2% higher than Georgetown which you were originally committed to before someone turned down UPenn for a better option so you could be let in.
