Maybe I'll make a vid on this!! I did have a strong passion for business through my passion project (I wrote a book on basic business concepts preparing high schoolers for independent life!) and did social media marketing work for a bunch of groups. But I applied to a tonnn of majors! At Penn/Cornell, I'd be doing more direct business and management stuff, and at Yale, I'd study something like psychology and econ or international relations!

Congrats! Columbia is my dream school for the Ivies

You are so very fortunate as you have a super supportive family and you live in an era where you can openly be who you are, LGBTQ, in front of the world. Decades (1980's) ago this was impossible. We went away to university to try to be ourselves but we were met most often with scorn and disgust. We had to fight, to stick together. You are Lucky you live in better times. Harvard told me the following when I asked: “You may apply for scholarships or special academic programs with an early deadline at another institution, public or private, if the timing is proven to be a necessary aspect for consideration, and the outcome is non-binding.” That’s why I applied to a few schools early since they required it for scholarships!

The fact that you got rejected from some “ lower tier” school is the fact that they knew that you were unlikely to attend their institution.

Please do a video about where you are going and why. I earned a masters from Penn last year and took a bunch of Wharton classes as part of my degree. They are the best professors and care about their students and society.

I have a very big doubt, how did you do to be accepted to these universities? It would be great and I would be truly grateful if you could explain, that would be essential since I am not from the USA, since I have a plan to go to study in high school in the USA and obtain the American baccalaureate, and really, as I told you, I am not from America. Here where you are in Latin America I already finished high school and you are studying 2 careers at the same time (mechatronic engineering and software) and I could not go to study in the United States because of the covid and that temporarily ruined my plan, until a few months ago I'll take it back so I'd appreciate it, thank you.

Thanks! I applied business for the schools that had it and psych/econ (potential double major) for the liberal arts schools like the Ivy League. Now, I'm also interested in things like Global Affairs at the liberal arts schools though!
