I've always enjoyed watching these these type of videos because they have gave me a look into how different the college process is for everyone and it is truly quite fascinating. I would've liked to make a video like this but I personally don't believe that I applied to enough schools. :( This video was really good by the way and you have a great taste in colleges. I will actually be attending W&M next year and it was awesome to see that you got in. You seem like a very genuine person, one who I probably would've like to known better. Well wherever you decide to go, I hope you make the best of it.

I'm looking at the same schools too, so I would love stats

I see so many videos of people applying to a ton of schools....i wonder if people who have more competitive application portfolios do that to see how much each school with present for scholarship? I only applied to a few, but I was never as impressive as many of the people in these videos!

@@aannamarie009Honestly if you go there you will find out. The professors are so entertaining and chill like the campus it self its soo beautiful. Even though it looks historical like there is beauty to that. It might not seem like there is but there is a great amount of diversity there with people from various places. Model UN is my favorite event they host annually. The dining halls have like the best food ever and its so much. I don't know how to explain it even further they have like really great sport teams especially for track. They also have like really interesting majors that most people don't get at other elite schools. It is very suburban which gives off a homey feeling. There is a great amount of Greek life and at w&m they offer great academics. I fell in love with w&m they first time, I went there in 8th grade. This is just from a hs freshman who's been there just a few times. Imagine what someone who goes to school there has to say.

@@aannamarie009 Yes they do but at William and Mary, like it's much more quality. It's not like the other schools which have too match quantity to recognize the importance of various factors. Like every club is recognized for its doings. They have classes basically majors that dont just prepare you for a job but your life. The school culture is very engaging and creates a homey atmosphere. To me it's also about the students not just like the actual place. At William and Mary everybody is super friendly and the people are not rude at all. There are of course some rude people but the students there make it great. There are negative factors like the fees and stuff but it all depends on you the person. I love history and just with the historical vibe and all, I have fallen in love with w&m but for others it might be different. But my best advice for you is to visit the school, I think by visiting you would have a better view and understanding also better choice whether to attend or not.

hi! im bethany, a sophomore in hs and my friends and i made this company, Colleage that provides cheap college counseling BY STUDENTS WHO GOT IN (we have UCLA, Princeton, UC Berkeley, Stanford, Duke, and more!) the website is collegae.weebly.com !! basically during each mentor session, you can ask the mentors anything, from their stats, to what extracurriculars they did, or how the managed their time well enough in high school to get in! hope this helps:)

I know you didn’t ask me but I’ve been through this so I wanted to just respond. Start thinking about your essays right now and write them as soon as possible so you have time to revise and re think.

Hi! When you apply to colleges there is a general essay on your commonapp that every school will look at. I had that prewritten very early on. Some colleges require additional essays. Those I usually wrote closer to the deadline for each specific school, but typically I aimed for several days in advance so I could proofread them multiple times. You will be able to know the questions early on so I would recommend getting started as soon as you can and not waiting until the last minute. Hope that helps!

Hi! In state tuition waivers are usually based on your stats. South Carolina's website has really detailed average stats for each of their merit awards so I'd definitely recommend checking that out. Overall I'd say shoot for an SAT score above 1300 and a high GPA.

Do they automatically give out scholarship or do you have to separately apply for it?

it depends on the school! Some scholarships or honor colleges you have to apply for while others they choose you for once they see your application.

Hi! I believe all of the scholarships I received in this video I automatically received just by filling out my application. Several of the honors college were separate applications, but those were unrelated to the scholarships.

Monika S it’s like a college within the college for students who are either at the top of the applicant pool or who want a little more academic challenge. Some schools select them from the original application, and other schools make you fill out a separate application specifically for the honors college. Most honors colleges offer special classes that have smaller amounts of students, many have their own building of dorms, and some also require you to write a thesis by the time you graduate. Not every school has an honors college though (for example William and Mary). Hope that helped!

there are actually more and more universities in europe who are doing honors colleges, e.g. I study in the netherlands and almost all dutch unis have an honors college as well
