Pretty cool that your teammates let you break in their gloves! Nomar used to have a golden rule that NO ONES hand except his was allowed inside of his glove lol! Great channel bro

when I close my Wilson a2000 catcher's mitt you can see a big crease on the leather where my hands are pushing out. Do you know how to prevent this and how I can close it without having this problem?

Just bought my 15 yrd old daughter a new Nokona catcher's mitt-I love it right out of the gate, but she can't squeeze as hard as I can, so I will use your technique and see what she can do. And I did click the subscribe button

How do you place your finger in the mitt to break it in? I know some people do 2 in the pinky, 2 in the ring finger. I am wanting to know the best way to form my new mitt. Thanks!

Unfortunately, probably not. Realmuto is at the end of his career so his name probably won’t make any money after he retires. To these companies it’s all about relevancy. Example, No such thing as a “Varitek Model” because the kids don’t know who he is. They only made a certain number of the JT this year and since it’s the Gold Label collection they probably won’t make another.

@@EtheMAN0528 Yeah he’s 32. I mean who knows in a perfect world he’s got 10 years left but most catchers retire around 36-37. It takes a toll. But they’re not making a new JT in 5 years

Hey man, i don’t know if you know this already but you can remake this by using a custom rawlings glove, just use Heart of the Hide, CM-43 model and it’s the exact thing, for the black use, “JT Dark Shadow” and use Tan for the inside, also if you’re switching colors don’t change the inside color since the color of leather breaks in different and the tan is probably THE best leather for catching baseballs

great question, it’s up to preference. I like to have a mitt that’s still a little stiff when I go to play catch with it, that way it forms to my hand the best

@@colefortin2906 Another good question, to me it’s a little bit of both. Sometimes it’s good to just let the ball hit the pocket and not squeeze the glove. If the ball falls out, then it falls out. No big deal just keep using it

My 44 catchers glove is super hard to break in and I can’t get it to close even (box) and he keeps on forming these ugly creases when I try to do stuff like this what should I do?

Notice how ever so often I open up the mitt and hit the palm with the weight. This is actually to remove and flatten out any creases that are made when I hit the back side of the mitt with the weight. Creases are normal when breaking in a glove: it's a characteristic of the leather. A glove with no creases is an unused glove! It's about keeping those creases from becoming bubbles, and to do that I hit the palm with the weight and shape it with my hands.
