Great recap...It was the NY Post that had those little ads with the photos, and the Post also had a paragraph recapping the cards amidst the horse racing results !!!

Ok, yea it’s been a very long time. I would get confused between the two. The Daily News I think printed the results from the Garden and a few others maybe Nassau County and the Meadowlands. I remember when Backlund lost the title they announced it quickly during a commercial tonight at 11:00 tune in to News Idk WOR or WPIX (what ever) saying there’s a new wrestling champion! I never watched the news but couldn’t wait to hear what happened! We sat there for a painful 27 mins that felt like 4 hours to watch a 14 second clip of Bob losing. I didn’t know weather n sports were the last segment haha. Thanks for watching.

DAMN! This ch is the best! That cooler trick worked!! I can’t thank you enough for that tip. I bought a magazine off eBay and it wasn’t cheap! It had a weird smell to it. Not bad but it definitely had a scent. I tried Arm Hammer in a cooler for only like a day an half and the smell was completely gone. As far as figs go and you not having many! But you have some the more expensive and sought after figures. Very cool!!

Oh cool! I’m glad it worked for you! I’ve had some terrible issues in the past. They smelled so bad as soon as I opened the package I had to put it outside. You never know where these magazines are coming from and how certain people live. They could be Hoarders, It’s rather disgusting actually. I said to leave it in the cooler for a few days in general, but that may not be the case for all magazines. I’ve had a couple that I had to leave in for almost 2 weeks it was so bad. But that’s a rare case, It all depends how bad it is I guess. Glad it helped!

Another great video, Bill! Are you gonna keep doing videos wide screen now or go back to the other way you were recording?? The one thing about wide screen is at least you can get all your poster shots in that you wanna show compared to the other way of recording. Can't wait for the next one, these are always a joy to watch when I get home from work or have a day off from work.

I was never notified about this comment that you made here eight days ago? Smh. I’m just seeing it now. Sorry, it’s goes back to what I was saying in the comment I made to you a few hours ago. Honestly I hate recording it vertical. If I do it landscape it lose focus on the center of the magazine. Landscape shows unwanted side views of the back wall. These videos were intended to be watched from a phone, because 95% of the people watching are on the phone not the TV. So it looks much better on a phone if I film it vertical. Vids where I show the full room i’ve always filmed it in landscape because there’s so many things to look at. The intention of the videos were never for entertainment purposes, it was just to help collectors see what magazines are available. Filming vertical gave the best view of the magazine, and all the text that’s on the cover.

Awesome video! Love the beginning -- just going and around and showing stuff. Could you pleeeeease spoil us all and do a video of your wrestling tape/DVD collection? And even movies too? I think there is a lot of overlap with movie/wrestling fans and I know many would LOVE it.

Thank you. You know, something has come over me idk why but I have been on a downsize rampage throwing shit out. I filled up 3 -1/2 black 70 gallon construction size garbage bags full of dvds over Christmas week. They are sitting in the garage with another 2 bags to fill. I stopped myself before garbage day to make certain I wanted to do it. The last video I took of my room is a mess because I got rid of a lot sports memorabilia (hockey n football) to make room! The wrestling stuff is being rearranged, I’ll never get rid of any of that. My wife was in shock about my video room. I just have way too much shit. When my two daughters were little, they counted how many movies DVDs CEDs, VHS, laser disc, VCDs, mini dvds, and Beta were in there. It took them four days to count it. There was 8000 something I can’t remember. My kids are in their mid 20s now, so it was a long time ago and a lot more was bought after the count. I don’t have enough days on this earth left to watch all that shit. My wife and kids always say if anything happens to you what are we gonna do with all this stuff you have downstairs? It’ll take us months to clear everything out. So idk I started clearing out!

Hmm, hopefully you have some collector buddies who can take it off your hands? It CANNOT go in the trash, that's blasphemous! Hahah :) Either way, hope you get the results you want. What a great idea for a video, yet kind of sad because of the great talents that left us too soon. That being said, to start, you could do a room tour at the beginning of every video you do and I don't think anyone would mind. Eddie Gilbert had a great mind for the business and he was a very good worker. His only drawback probably was the fact he was a little undersized. Eddie was married to Missy Hyatt for a short while and about four months to Medusa in 1990. I believe he was booking down in Puerto Rico when he passed away in his sleep. Gorgeous Gino, like Flair, lived his gimmick. And, sadly, it led to his death. Gino was too good of a heel to really ever have a serious face run. Yea, he turned face briefly when Tully turned on him in Southwest when they defeated The Grapplers on TV to win the Southwest Tag Team Championship. Earnie Shavers was the special referee in a match between the two and decked Tully after Blanchard pushed him. Gino then jumped off the second rope and bodysplashed Tully for the win. Gino and Chris Adams were a great heel team in World Class. Following the Freebird - Von Erich war was tough, but the Dynamic Duo did a fantastic job. When David Von Erich died, it really was the beginning of the end for World Class. Yes, they still did great business for another couple years, but David was the best Von Erich, inside the ring and also had a great mind for the business. Kevin once said he never got over David's death. I remember watching CWF and Gordon Solie announced the passing of David on TV. I was shocked.

Ok that’s it. Jimi is fired as executive producer. You’re now the man in charge after reading all that info! Lmbo I never knew that Shavers reffed and dropped Tully! Thats great I gotta find this. I have a bunch of SW wrestling on dvd that I never watched. I hope it’s on there. I never knew sleazy Ducey was married to Eddie either Jesus. Missy was real cool and fun. I had her sign a rare issue #1 of Wrestling Beauties Magazine, she’s on the cover. It’s very expensive these days without being signed. I gotta check those SW dvds asap!

@prowrestlingmags LOL The problem with the Tully - Gino match where Shavers was the guest ref is the camera doesn't catch it. You only see Tully fall flat on his back afterward. I don't think that feud really panned out. I believe Gino went back to Houston for a while. Tully actually turned face before he left for the Mid-Atlantic. I believe the Shepherders attacked his dad, and that led to a short, face run for Tully. Again, Tully was not a guy who could be a babyface for long. He was too good of a heel.

@erikk.5202 yeaaa I don’t have it! But my god I have a ton of SW that I never watched until yesterday. I forgot I had all that. High Spots released a bunch of dvds from their TV. They have a best of the dynamic duo loaded with matches. I was hoping it was on that set but no luck. And I see exactly what you mean by the camera not catching Tully. That was an extremely low budget television program. The camera angles picked up a lot side view angles away from the ring. You see the wood studs holding up the stage, boxes under the platforms from the interview section, and the chandeliers hanging down from the ceiling lol it was funny. But great raw stuff. Very much like ECW low budget tv. I can only assume they went with the “world title” because they were on USA network and people would think it was just a Texas show if they kept it southwest. Adonis as the world champ was a strange pick if you ask me. Nothing against him at all. But he was a NY style heel. They probably should have went with the more stereotypical to the time period world champions. Then again, they were doomed when Vince decided he wanted the spot. At that time Vince started gobbling up all the territories TV spots that he could. It’s another reason I hate him. It’s one thing stealing the territories, but the bigger picture behind that was he also killed the different wrestling styles. Little by little he killed the mat wrestler. .
