Colin Firth found it difficult to 'shake this character off' once the film was finished. He explains the mental changes he had to go through to become a heartbroken lonely suicidal man in the unforgettable film by Tom Ford. His costars were Julianne Moore, Matthew Goode, Nicholas Hoult. Tom Ford talks about his vision, why he chose Colin Firth, how he had been preparing this film over a long time, why this character needs so much elegance inside and outside, it is not about fashion. Everything in this movie is tailored to perfection, pun intended. We are so fortunate that Ford and FIrth joined their talents to come up with his masterpiece. What a beautiful picture.
Having known Mr Ford for well over a decade probably nearly two, I am astonished at having only viewed this now in 2020 at what a singular man he is and how his vision was astounding was to have understood and sensed how to bring this love story to the screen. Truly getting Mr. Firth sealed the deal in achieving perfection. Bravo to everyone. Truly the most inspired collaboration of the early 21st century.

I watched the film yesterday, and I couldn't sleep. It shook me to my core. Every single scene, and every single person in the saga, was absolutely true and meaningful. I could relate to everyone, from the little boy to George, to Charley, and everyone in-between. A few films have done that to me, the first was Zeffirelli's Romeo and Juliet. Colin Firth is one of my favourites, from Valmont until today. Somehow I missed this masterpiece, though. I'm so glad I found it.

Not at all surprised that Mr Ford's creativity would "cross over" into film and that an actor as talented as Mr Firth, who also has cross over creativity ( as a producer + writer) would take a chance on this project. A meeting of minds that produced a beautiful film, IMO.

I am yet to see this film. I am not sure what happened in the storyline with Mrs Strunk? Was Jennifer Goodwin the girl that played Beth in Why women kill with Lucy Liu playing Simone? I must catch up with all your work Colin. It must have been quite emotional playing the part of George Greece. I think Colins face is quite expressive. Take care Colin 🙌🏼😔😘💕
Ce film est emouvant et eprouvannt. Une belle histoire d amour.. Qui se termine en drame pour nous. Mais c est bien. Mourir ensemble car l on ne peut se passer de l autre. Pourtant l amitie est là. La peur aussi de se retrouver seul. Le néant. J ai adoré la danse et la chute apres kn petit verre pour oublier. Rien ni personne ne peut remplacer. C est mieux ainsi meme si Colin disparait de cette façon tragique . Un immense film sur l amour qui nous guide. Ol ne faut pas lui echapper.
