It’s kinda tough to not assume that cole could revived with electricity… like Frankenstein, seeing as he is essentially a human battery. Jumpstart his heart with a power plant etc. I’m not saying he should comeback but at the same time, it’s not necessarily nonsensical.

I don't necessarily want Cole back in a story sense, but I really wish we could get a sort of soft reboot or remake, with the current gen's tech improvements. InFamous was (and kinda still is) my favorite "superhero" game franchise, and that's partially because the powers and effects were so visually satisfying; I just feel like it's been long enough that a version of the first two games using current tech would be a fresh enough start for newcomers, while absolutely flooring players of the originals.

You forgot a pretty major detail of them not even being sure that the RFI would work so as far as Cole is aware it's risk the life of all conduits to save the majority on a small chance or take the beasts guaranteed way to save the minority Honestly I want Cole to come back but in the original intended canonical ending of infamous 2 where he takes over the mantle of the beast having the world be really post apocalyptic with a bunch of conduits with Cole leading the charge would be really interesting

Its such a shame too because the evil ending is actually the most logical and thought provoking ending ive seen. Aswell as having a great moral dilemma where “evil” is the right choice imo. I do blame sucker punch for deciding to go the good ending as canon. I believe more people played the good karma path then evil, That’s ultimately why.

Until you get to the ending choice and it becomes a logical reason to be evil. It feels out of the blue considering the evil choices that came before in infamous 2. There not too deep morally but more a jerk for the sake of being a jerk.

Cole has to come back for the story to make sense as he was Kessler in infamous one as well. If he didn't come back it wouldn't fit timeline continuity. I'm amazed more people haven't brought this up.

I agree. I would like to see more of Delsin's (or a brand new conduit's) adventures in the next game... ...if it's ever gonna arrive.

6:42 When younger me got the good ending, That might've been the closest I've gotten to crying to a fictional death. Zeke narratoring the last cutscene is so heart wrenching, but I know it had to be done. There was no part of me that expected, or other than natural grief, wanting him to come back. There's nothing more heroic than self sacrifice, and if cole mcgrath came back? after all of that? being the only one to survive that conduit genocide? What would be the point? would cole even _want_ to live after that?

@@tea-sus8722that makes no sense. The RFI destroys conduits cus the genes that activate powers are targeted whether they produce proteins to start the conduits powers or not. It does not matter if they power up or not and they fucked the story up, you can't build immunity to a deadly virus or thing like it with zero exposure. Covid was bad for people that were very unhealthy and old people because of immune system was barely handling itself before which is why it killed majority unhealthy and elderly, a vaccine for deadly things is needed though and there is nothing to stop the RFI from killing them. They should re write infamous 3 and let it continue after 2’s evil ending, it would be bloody perfect on PS5 and they could finally tell us why kuo has powers absent of a raysphere blast

As a long time inFAMOUS, I heavily agree, Cole MacGrath's story ended on a beautiful note. I honestly didn't mind inFAMOUS Second Son; I welcomed the new character Delsin Rowe when Second Son first came out back in 2014. It's better than bringing back Cole and plus let the man rest peacefully knowing him and Trish are reunited in the afterlife.

I stand by that an infamous prequel could be done as Kessler before he went back in time.

You don't have to worry about Cole coming back or delson or anyone matter of fact because I don't think we will ever see another infamous any time soon

I completely agree. Cole coming back would diminish the ending of the second game. They should either continue Delsin's story or focus on a new protagonist, which i would personally prefer.

I agree with Cole being left dead. Cole is like the bedrock or basis of the inFAMOUS world. He's that legend whose legacy should be felt in the background. He's like the conduit that characters from future stories should look up to. Another thing is that Cole's entire character was dictated by circumstances forced upon him. He viewed his powers as a curse and eventually as a nessecary burden. There's a reason why Second Son's tagline was "Enjoy your Power"... it's because one of the biggest contrasts between Delsin and Cole is that Cole's power brought nothing but pain to him. Delsin was having a good time mostly. lol The only way I would bring Cole back is through a Kessler prequel game. Cole from the original timeline.

One Death Battle and this guy gets pull back to some relevance.

A soft reboot of the series would be great, either an AU with Cole being the protagonist again, or a soft sequel with some sort of mythos around him, like the story of the game follows in the shadow he left behind.

Takes place like 20 years later with no conduits, but everybody talks about that short period of time people with superpowers existed. Media eats it up and can play on the overlong popularity of superhero movies and tv shows. Cole is a hero but he has become a commidity, with his face used for everything where it has lost all meaning. Then something happens, new protag gets powers and tries to emulate the consumerist bastardization of Cole only to through the journey discover his depth, what he must of felt, and the new protag embodying the true Cole as he was.

Side question. What are your thoughts of Cole MacGrath vs Alex Mercer death battle ?

@@Seoul_Soldier I’m guessing you haven’t watched the death battle? Also, Alex could barely survive a nuke, and he can only regenerate at a molecular level. The Beast (as well as any conduit really) can dish out attacks that affect a person at the atomic level, not to mention that the blast The Beast created was much bigger than the nuke in Prototype. Cole could easily disintegrate Alex, or consume Alex of all his Bio-electricity, which would also stop Alex’s regeneration.

I agree that Cole's death was the perfect way to end Infamous 2, and that he should stay dead. There's just one minor detail that these videos have yet to touch on... The very first game in this series includes TIME TRAVEL. And more to the point, time travel in which Cole meets his alternate self. I'm not saying that Cole should come back from the dead, but it's far from impossible to imagine a scenario in which he does -- all the more so since Infamous 2 doesn't provide any answers as to how Kessler traveled back in time (at least not that I can remember). This actually reminds me of one of your earlier videos -- the one which states that Infamous 2 is non-canon. Since we know time travel exists in this universe, it's possible that it's not so much non-canon as simply an alternate timeline.

I think games have it worse than movies, but I think comics have the character death issues the most. I noticed some TV shows do as well. I think games and movies being allowed to just have set stories for each entry instead of constantly be ongoing makes it easier to not dig up stuff as often and undo moments of ending characters (whether earned or not) for the sake of making an easier sequel to write.

Being dead did not stop him in the slightest from recovering quickly and going on with his heroism :)

Oh what a surprise I've been wanting to hear your take on the infamous franchise

One thing Zeke said has stuck with me for the last decade. I want to say it was in 1, and don't remember the exact details of what had been happening. But Zeke says to Cole, "I dont call you brother because it sounds good".

Heck for a script idea I had for a entry set during the events of Second Son with a new lead heroine one of the things I had thought out besides the return to New Marais was the idea our new lead heroine would be pulled between two factions of Conduits with their own ideas on how to deal with DUP and the name I had picked for the good Karma faction was "The Knights of McGrath" basically the idea is that they want to honor the legacy of Cole McGrath and use their powers to help people, and protect innocents human, and Conduit and bring the DUP to justice instead of igniting an all-out war between humans, and Conduits.

This is gonna sound crazy, but I have always always always wanted an Infamous game where you play as Cole before he travels back in time. Show us that and explain in more detail how he developed a time travel ability. It also fixes the plot hole with the Beast that they never explained.

One thing I have thought, is Conduits are a form of evolution, like Marvel mutants. My opinion is that the plague wasn't caused by radiation, but was the effect if conduits draining the psychic energy from non-conduits. The reason this only started after the use of the ray sphere, is that it made conduits evolve beyond their source of energy. Under normal progression, both normal humans and conduits would evolve with each other and balance out. Kesler, could even have been beast Cole, facing the end of the world as conduits would start to die off from lack of this energy. I know, its not a prefect theory, but i like it.

My issue with the inFamous 2 Ending isn't Cole's sacrifice, but what the sacrifice does for stories that could be told in the inFamous series. I never really saw the series as one where they have to have one consistent continuity, and instead could have self contained eras that explore different people with powers and various ways the new powers could lead to interesting scenarios. If Delsin's story in Second Son didn't even mention a single thing about the Cole era, it could have potentially worked. I feel like the title of "inFamous" and it's morality system lend itself to the question of exploring different people with different powers and how they choose to use them, rather than just being a basic story that is little more than a grittier version of the Milestone comics universe (Static Shock being the obvious parallel) with some moral choices. That concept lends itself to a theoretically infinite number of possible tales of people getting powers, with the decision to be a hero or not being down to the player. As stated in the video, the plan was originally to have the "Infamous" ending be the canon ending before it became obvious that more people ended up doing the good end... and as such, I think it's clear that they were probably knee deep in pre-pro on Second Son before the canonicity of the "Hero" ending was finalized, and likely couldn't pull out, so Second Son had to be made with the good ending in mind. I think they should have just had Second Son only use the terminology of the Cole era, and otherwise just kept to itself, with no mention of the events of the first two titles, but they obviously thought differently. I think the series having definitive endings for characters, but not the concepts, to be a better outcome that satisfies people who like a sense of finality for the stories they like, but allows for people who want more to have more. Second Son, regardless of one's opinion on it, shows that inFamous, as a series, is *more* than Cole MacGrath's story, as much as some would like to say or believe otherwise. I don't want Cole to come back, I just want the series to not be forced to die with him when it doesn't really need to. To me, it's like saying God of War should have ended with God of War 3, but accepting that they brought Kratos back despite his original story being over because, at least conceptually, there was still room to explore new ideas with the character. The only difference is between character and concept, where Kratos is a character who had a finished story at the end of God of War 3, but because of the multiple pantheons across history, and because he is a demigod, they had the room to bring him back, even if it would have made more sense to let him die after he fulfilled his goal. I don't personally like the new God of War games, but I'd never tell a fan of that series that it's immature to want a series to continue, even if I think the series was better off being laid to rest back with God of War 3. inFamous, on the other hand, isn't just Cole's story, as I said, so conceptually, so there's room for the franchise to explore different ideas within a similar framework while letting the character rest. I don't have an ideal scenario for a future inFamous game, but because it's not intrinsically tied to the dead protagonist, it has arguably more room to expand on those concepts than God of War did.

Oh, right. When inFAMOUS 2 was still new/current, they had the player data on which karmic ending people chose on the official website for the game as well as some other things. I don't exactly remember the other stuff, but I do remember that being the bigger one that they told us was going to be the deciding factor for the Canon ending. At the time, I was disappointed seeing people continue to choose the good over evil more, but now I can say that I am okay with that 😅

People say Sony has a tendency of neglecting their franchises. And while that maybe true for some of their franchises like Gravity Rush I wouldn't say that they neglect thier franchises. Take Infamous Second Son and Killzone Shadow Fall for instance both are sequels to established IP that might've helped sell more PS4s (Second Son was the reason I bought a PS4 a lot sooner than I should've) but they were unnecessary sequels at the end of the day and are also arguably the worst entry from both of their franchises. I think the only way a franchise can continue on is if each entry revolves around a completely different cast (like Final Fantasy, Grand Theft Auto, or Persona) or is they introduced a new series protagonist to replace the old one (similar to what Yakuza: Like A Dragon did) because you can only have some many games that revole around the same protagonist (looking at you Ratchet and Clank) and while Second Son and Shadow Fall both did this there still wasn't much narrative left to make a new game (so there's that too as a third point if a franchise is intended to go on forever). And yes I completely agree with you Tactical Bacon Production's Cole should stay dead as much as I love Infamous 2 (hell it's one of my top 10 favorite videogames of all time) it would ruin him if they bought him back just like Dr. Nefarious from Ratchet and Clank was ruined (should've kept him dead after A Crack In Time) come to think about it Ratchet and Clank should've ended there as well.

Man, I grew up on infamous, it brings tears to my eyes to see Cole go, no matter how many times I've seen it before. I just wish we could have Zeke come back. Maybe have another electrical conduit that's like Zeke's nephew or something? And Zeke shows him the ropes?

As a writer, a good rule of thumb for deciding to kill a character, is to ask "would killing this character lead to more interesting story opportunities than if we still had him alive". Stuff to consider would be, would him dying benefit the development or fleshing out of other characters?. Would him dying benefit the story's themes, morals or message?. Would him dying hinder the potential for future stories or indirectly make other characters less interesting? Would killing him accidentally remove other characters too if they depend on him to exist in the story? Non of these questions gives us a clear Yes or No, about if he should die or not, but they are stuff a writer needs to think about and sometimes choose between. I would personally say, make 'evil' ending canon or give him a 1up mushroom in the 'good' ending, and here's my reason why: In a hypothetical game directly following infamous 2's 'good' ending, we would only have Zeke to follow in a world with no super powers. And even if we ignored the gameplay part and only focused on the story, we still only have a character who is defined by his relation to, and actions against Cole. Killing Cole for good would be really stupid from a writing standpoint as it takes away so many possibilities for future plots, inner conflicts and character interactions, but even more so with killing Nix and Kuo, since if they were at least alive we could still have had a lot of the things we lost with Cole. But even if infamous 2 was supposed to be the finale with no continuation, the 'good' ending is still a really unsatisfying story that ends with our main character succumbing to his survivor's guilt by literally killing himself. Completely throwing the story's themes of Choice, Guilt and Moving forward, straight out of the window.

Sorry, no. Everything you just said is entirely built on the basis of not allowing stories to end. You're trying to claim that by killing off conduits, you're destroying any potential for future sequels. But you're not allowing for the possibility that maybe there shouldn't be sequels, or that the creators don't want to make sequels. They just want to conclude the story as is without any loose ends. Not every story needs to or should go on forever. If your entire basis of writing a story is based on the premise of "how do I not end this conclusively so I can milk it forever" and that's asinine. And for the record, Cole didn't sacrifice himself out of survivor's guilt, he sacrificed himself because it was the noble thing to do. Because humanity was literally dying.

I feel like we should get an Infamous 3 knowing it could be possible that Cole could be alive but with a much bigger threat, and we have the beast ending, where we can play Cole with the beast power but with new characters to play with to go against Cole or Work with Cole to see a new storyline.

I firmly believe the devs at Suckerpunch should've taken more time to fix up the morality system. The "evil" ending was supposed to set up a potential sequel with Cole as a potential antagonist, but over 78% of players went for the good ending... the good ending that killed every single Conduit worldwide. If the devs had hidden what choices were good and evil and made the choices feel less obviously aligned with good and evil (cough cough, bombing the plantation and fooling the resistance even though those plans would never work out) then I feel like more people would've went for the intended ending. Instead, every choice is either comedically good or bad and that really limits the whole narrative.

They really should have continued off of the evil ending instead of the good one. But like you said, there's no point dealing in hypotheticals, so for the future... If they make a sequel, I would actually prefer them to embrace the nature of dual endings and expand on the evil ending instead of continuing Delsin's story right away - without abandoning Second Son or declaring it non-canon, just... exploring an alternative canon route for a game.

It should be noted that Kessler's sacrifice makes inFAMOUS 2's finality all the more impactful.

I love this video and it’s amazing, it goes to show how well written these stories are. What I do need is that 3rd game, I’m pretty sure infamous was originally a trilogy with the comic stories intended to be the second game with infamous 2 intended to be the 3rd. If we could get that trilogy game based on the evil ending dealing with Cole’s morality following being the Beast it would be cool

Infamous 2 is marvelous. I'm surprised that you didn't mention Resistance which did the same. Ballsy to kill the protagonist, but they did it well. Infamous 2 was fantastic and I feel it's the best superhero game still to this day. I agree that Cole should stay gone.

It's tough having to bring Cole back, I may have scratched my head with his death as did many of us, but what they need is not to bring him back, it's to flesh out Delsin and his new world more. I may not like Delsin, he's a painful protagonist to sit through, but that can leave a chance to explore more how the fuck the conduits are still around after the RFI, because the DLC never answered it. I know Sucker Punch has a tradition of leaving a series after 3 games, but idk, just thinking.

I’ve said it once, I’ll say it again. Second Son’s time jump should’ve been longer. WAY longer. Seven years is a stupidly short amount of time for all the lore that happened to happen. It also contributes to the undermining of this game’s story since it happens not even a full decade later. If the time jump was say… several decades. Maybe forty or so? It would’ve been much more logical. Delsin, Eugene, Fetch, Hank, Augustine, and the paper trail girl all get to still reasonably exist within the post good ending world, and it also would make conduit fear more likely, as the next generation would probably be afraid of something they don’t know about. Cole also gets legend status this way and the D.U.P. lying about him would be much more compelling since not many people are left alive from that era that actually can back him up, and it’s really just a matter of personal belief rather than blatantly fake propaganda that’s easily disproved.

We need a sequel to second son, its still criminal how short and unfleshed out Fetch and Eugene (mainly Eugene) were to the overall story of that game and Delsin still has tons of room to grow.

Id love to see a what if sort of spin off sequel that ahows us what would have happened with Evil Cole. Gives the company preferred evil ending its shining while giving more Infamous without breaking the current canon if it didnt do well

I initially disliked Delsin and wanted Cole back, but now I'm sold that Cole should stay dead....in the Good timeline. There's no reason why we still can’t get a game or games that explores the "Evil" ending's timeline where Cole chose the conduits. Especially now that general audiences are familiar with the concept of a multiverse. Call it the "Red series" or something. What's a world like where everyone has powers? How do you police such a world? Or does it inevitably devolve into total anarchy? Does it make Cole regret his decision? I agree a good series knows when to end...but with inFAMOUS it really *does* seem like they're leaving too much on the table. At least do the I2 Evil Ending game?

I'll still purport that a sequel centering on Good Cole seeking to overthrow an evil Delsin would be one of the better avenues, but I can't deny the story's gravitas in 1&2.

The game was so good that 8 year old me couldn't handle the ending. When I was forced to press the 4 buttons I just stared at the screen hoping that there was an alternate decision but there wasn't. Everything that this game set out to do was almost perfect and the moral dillema was too complex for most.That's why Infamous 2 is for me the best game of all time.

I think a good way of hitting an in-between and having another infamous game with cole would be to make a prequel where the version of cole we play as is Kessler before going back in time. It probably doesn't need to happen (as Kessler's story is already quite clear) but playing as him and knowing how he became who he is or maybe the game being about how he got his time powers (good or evil ways) would be cool. Only an idea thrown out there that we will never see made but still interesting to think about.

Never understood why there was even a sequel after 2, especially being the canon ending kills off all of said conduits. Can't have a superhero sandbox without the super. That's one of my biggest issue with second son

Honestly, I feel a fully customizable infamous game would be the way to go for a sequel. Make your own character, choose what powers you want or even if you want powers at all or just rely on gadgets/weapons and vehicles. To truly make your own story and be the hero (or villain) you want to be.

I feel like if they do another Infamous game the MC should be a conduit with the same powers as Cole fighting an evil Delsin so that theirs's this legacy you need to live up to.

And idea i saw a while ago on a forum somewhere is have the next hero be Zeke's son, who ends up having powers similar to Coles'

completly agree, not every hero needs to be alive to change the world and in a game were do the right thing is so important, i think it makes the better point to do the right even if its sad, that´s what a hero like spider-man or Superman do

Thank you for that thing near the end about wanting series to end while they're still good. I've said that so many times to people asking me if I hope they'll make another [anything] and I feel like a crazy person because nobody agrees. The best I've gotten is "yeah, the story WAS wrapped up pretty well so I think the next one should have a new main character" THEN WHY WOULD IT BE IN THE SAME SERIES?!

Honestly, I wish they would’ve stopped at two games because that was the perfect ending and infamous second son it’s so hard to figure out why there’s s steel conduit and I hate how infamous second son doesn’t connect as well from the first two games sucker punch said the reason why they didn’t wanna do that was because back then people were jumping ship from Xbox to PlayStation after they found out that originally you always had to have the consul online and if you didn’t connect to online servers within 24 hours, it would lock you out. I was one of those people that jumped shipped and because there’s new people going to be playing infamous for the first time they didn’t want people falling behind I guess which I hate the idea of that, because resident evil doesn’t care then I’m a new fan and that I haven’t been following this series since day one so why should infamous I feel like that was an excuse because I did play the first two games eventually and I’m probably gonna read the comic eventually and why do I get for my dedication jack shit and that really upsets me and they were going to continue it. I wish they would’ve continued it from the evil ending or not all but because we have infamous second son. I would love for that game to get a remake and get a overhaul also, I forgot to mention that after all these years call legacy is free to download which is the only small bit of content that connects the first two games the infamous second son

I think Cole could come back, but only as a clone that can never be the TRUEEEEE Cole Macgrath. I want a new Cole Macgrath that has his own origin story that isn't burdened by what the true Cole or even Kessler feels.

Just think, there were conduits around the world. And they couldn't do an infamous game with a smaller scale story set away from Coles story, but in the same time period? Or how about a game set in Kesslers world, because multiverse theory.

They could do a non canon entry by continuing from the evil ending if they feel like there's a story to be told there. A story doesn't need to be canon to be good, as long as the writing is well done and there's value to be gained from that experience aside from making the publisher money, then i'd say go for it

Great example of a wasted perfect death to the detriment of a franchise is the end of the first John Wick. This doesn't have anything to do with Infamous but I just had to vent after the subject was breached.

I think InFamous should pull a First Light and give us a Zeke Dunbar: Super Spy game. Screw electrical powers, give us the man of action himself.

At least someone understands why second son although great gameplay destroyed Cole’s sacrifice I think the good ending concluded the origanal series perfectly

They don't have to have sequels be part of the story. Could be a "spiritual successor" with the gameplay and vibe of the previous games but new world and people

On one hand I don’t have a problem with Cole dying but at the same time I wouldn’t be opposed to have him staying alive but maybe depowered and living a normal life. Maybe if he was depowered, he could get them back but only if he was exposed to a large amount of energy. Just my two cents as I love this character and this series.

If they're is a 3rd game of infamous with Cole, they should expand on the evil ending. It'd be interesting at least

Why should the evil one be cannon? Cole in the comics always wanted to forge destiny of his own. He dropped out of college and took a job he disliked as he wanted to take his life in his own hands because up to that point he parents forced him to do everything they wanted. When he came to know this was all orchestrated by Kessler he couldn't bear it. He hated Kessler for everything he was and everything he did to him. He didn't want to be associated with him. He thought he took his life into his own hands but it was always Kessler l who controlled his Life. So why would he go on the path to save humanity which Kessler wanted. He could write his own destiny for the first time ever in his life and lead the human into a new era. He would be finally taking his own decisions and be a man of his own.

Exactly But one major thing aswell that makes the evil ending better. The beast methods work, while the rfi may not. Cole himself states he doesn’t know if the rfi will even work. If he used it and the rfi killed everyone capable of stopping the plague but the plague survived. Its a huge risk to humanity itself to rely on a 50/50 chance it will work. While the beast methods, while devastating and awful. activates conduits who become immune to the plague. You kill millions but humanity is guaranteed to survive. Of course as the players we know the good ending works, but at that moment cole doesn’t.

@@lostonegrey1555 You just summed up why I never liked the ending. But then it immediately loses its backbone and says “no, no, no. *this* (the RFI ending)is 100% the right thing to do. Even if it doesn’t work and everyone dies, it’s still the right thing to do. Which is just a horrible message to imply. It didn’t help that it basically makes the choice for you And I have an impossible time believing I’m playing as the same person from the first game

Considering what we were given in the paper trail arg, it seems the canon ending (regardless of prior karmic choices) is the "infamous" ending in 2, where Cole ends up becoming the beast... honestly why were the endings in 2 so freaking morally grey???

I'm not actually inherently against the idea of Second Son's story. I mean, if Conduits can be immune to the plague through a one in one thousand gene, who's to say that a conduit cannot survive the RFI from a one in ten-thousand gene? (Augustine says that Cole wiped out 90% of conduits, pinning the number at 1/10000). Genetic mutations are weird like that, after all. Part of me thinks its cool that Cole stays dead, but one: worse characters get brought back from the dead all the time and two: THAT FUCKING LIGHTNING STRIKE IS SUCH A TEASE. Also if they brought Cole back, there is no reasonable way they could implement the karma system since canonically he's basically christlike in his karma. I guess what I'm trying to say in my rambling is that I'm torn on the subject.

only reason i could see cole coming back is in a prequal to kelsser, i think it would be insanly fun and they could really flesh out the trauma of what he went through in order for him to go back in time, you could even make the final boss going up against cole in the main game but i think that would be a bit on the nose and dirivitive

I think it has to do with people not being able to accept that their favorite character is dead and there is no way for him or her to come back. People simply cannot accept that death and the end are inevitable. People become too attached to their favorite character or franchise and thinking about its end causes many people to experience anxiety and depression. So people have a hard time accepting the inevitable ending of their favorite franchise and character. But remember the old phrase "All Good Things Must Come To An End!" And that is true, since nothing lasts forever, no matter how rich and powerful you are, sooner or later you will kick the bucket. That is the problem with Marvel and DC as they are afraid to finish their stories, or leave their old days behind as they constantly reboot their series over and over again. And they constantly kills their characters over and over again in the most emotional way possible only to bring them back without explanation. Or have their character recover from an unrecoverable situation like Wolverine recovers from a drop of blood. It just shows that people are afraid of their stories ending and they can't accept those facts. Everything ends and thinking otherwise only shows the ignorant nature of people. It will also be boring to see the same character and the same story repeating itself over and over again. That's why I stopped watching Family Guy, The Simpsons, and SpongeBob SquarePants. They are still in the air at this year and are getting tired. That's why anime and manga do well because their stories are easy to follow and have a beginning, middle, and end. Unlike Marvel or DC with their constant fake deaths and reboots of their series. Ever One Piece is coming to an end. So people want Cole MacGrath to come back, it just shows that people can't accept the fact that his story is over. That's why I think Kratos should have died in God Of War Ragnarok. Leaving, Atreus to take on the role of the new Protagonist for the future stories.

You're right, infamous 2 should of been the end of the series. Every few years I plan through the one and two again, they still hold up every time. The first one is a bit crusty but I grew up on the early days of the ps3 so it doesn't bother me that much. When I was younger I wanted infamous to go on forever, but as I got older I was able to better appreciate the incredible story infamous told. I'd love a remaster of 1 and 2, but not a continuation. If they wanted to continue the series they already butchered the story and made a new one with second son. They might as well continue from there if they *had* to continue the series.

The good ending of Infamous 2 I believe had a lightning bolt strike the boat dead Cole was on... they could use that as a way of bringing Cole back... make another Infamous with the ability to switch between Cole and Delsin 🤷🏻‍♂️

I love all the infamous games, even Second Son and First Light. But, I think that an evil sequel to infamous 2 would've been great. A villainous protagonist isn't common in video games so it would have its own charm. My only problem with this would be the removal of a good and evil ending since the karmic status is predetermined.

I really loved the first 2 infamous games. Second son and first light were good, but they werent the original 2 games, hell, he gets turned into a vampire in the dlc for infamous 2

Cole could comeback, as a REMAKE of the first game, instead of continuation.

Short version: He friggin died and in an awesome way. Sad as it is that a bunch of potential superheroes had to be caught in the crossfire, he died saving the world!

If only Sucker Punch chose to use the evil ending for 2 as they initially planned to. That would have been much better for story. Second Son already negates Cole's sacrifice, so choosing the good ending as canon made no sense.

I really want to see a Kessler game. That would be my true infamous 3. It's about Cole in a different timeline with a new (some returning) set of powers. It essentially acts as a prequel to infamous 1. I know Kessler is the antagonist in the first game, but I'd like to see his journey in his own timeline of bevoming Kessler, the enemies/conduits he'd meet and face, and his run from The Beast. I had fun with Second Son, but it was a huge disappointment in story and in its basic af gameplay downgrade from the previous games. I haven't played Last Light. And I though Festival of Blood was fun, and honestly I liked the comparison of the Vampires being kind of like/compared to Conduits.

I still remember hearing the rumors of an Infamous MP game with CaC and choosing your power sets and parkouring all over the city etc. That's why I was disappointed with SS, I didn't like Delsin that much and some powersets felt lacking (imagine how fleshed out the power would've been if you didn't have to make 3 other power types)

If they wanna make a new infamous they could do a what if type style idk how put it but they could make a game were it is the evil ending of 2 and do what they originally intended 1 show people what they originally wanted and 2 for 1 that wanna see or at least hear of coles name idk how put this post that's the only reason they could actually bring cole back with out being like he's not dead

If Sucker Punch wanted to bring Cole back and by extension make another Infamous game, they could’ve just made Infamous 2’s Bad Ending the canonical one. This probably would’ve explained why Second Son happens, as it makes no sense that it’s canon to the good ending… where conduits die!
