This album came out right after my divorce was finalized (got married young the first time, but getting divorced after 8 years together was heartbreaking to me). We shared a love for Coldplay and had been to concerts together. I remember when this album was coming out being worried if I was going to have negative impact, like if I was going to lose my love for them that it would only remind me of my failed marriage. It was the opposite. I can listen to this album from start to finish, and even though it came out at such a low point in my life, I have only positive emotions when I hear it. To me, I was going through a turning point in my life, and I felt like I noticed a change in Coldplay's sound also. It is and will always be my favorite album of theirs for that reason.

“YES”, I absolutely love this gem of a song & both parts for that matter! The second half reminds me of M83’s “Saturday’s = Youth”, at least that’s the vibe I’m getting = sort of. Speaking of second half, I noticed the last part of “Lovers in Japan” is missing the 3 minute piano outro…, that’s what makes this album so amazing, the little jewels you find tucked away, where sometimes you get two songs for the price of one.

Personal Pet Peeve: "I miss them sounding like this." Well it's a good thing they recorded it then. Here to say I love Coldplay and their evolution from "Parachutes" to "Music of the Spheres". Change is growth. Music is art, and the art changes with the artist. No one is the same person they were 20 years ago.

I too miss them sounding like this. There was so much creativity, a decade ago. Today's Coldplay compositions sound like they were crafted in under a minute, on the back of a paper napkin, before their fries arrived.

Except in the case of Coldplay, there hasn't been any evolution, just devolution since X&Y.

My mom got me this CD when I was in highschool and didn't really know if I would like it. Little did she know that this album would change my life forever. It kept me going in the darkest moments of my life. Music that saved my soul will always be in my heart.

Saw them live in November 2008 for this Tour. Amazing experience in Salt Lake City! My bff and I loved singing along

Almost 15 years ago my mother passed away and I was on a plane to China for the funeral. I was listening to this album repeated and crying (Nobody was noticing me since they were sleeping).
