This is certainly one of the most incredible pieces of music I have heard! It reminds me a lot of pink floyd and supertramp and 70s music in general but this is particularly amazing. Brilliant musicians, all of them

I saw them close ACL in 2006-ish? They were amazing. They made that massive open-air festival seem both huge and intimate. I'll forever fly their flag forever. One of the greatest shows I've ever seen.

Best guitar player of our time, he knows exactly what to bring to the songs... dont matter if its just a note, a random sound, or just an awesome riff but always wants to serve the song and not himself. The complexity of "simple" things.

@@danielmassey4179 exactly! that's also the reason why Jonny Buckland is so underrated. He doesn't play for himself but for the band. His guitar gave Coldplay songs a unique ambience that sets their songs apart from other bands.

I still consider them underrated, but I understand the pop music. It has made them popular and almost universally liked by now. They have an entire album worth of unreleased B sides that are remarkable

Will don't allow him to mention real names in general, not just Galileo specifically. But he already mentioned a real name in Flags, Pyotr Tchaikovsky, one album after that documentary. Edit: I forgot Miracles too
This song could become a piece of "modern" - classical music in a few years... it's epic and stunning. A golden song.

Yes, that. It may not be the most listened to kinda song, but it will be one of the most respected, treasured, and appreciated musical creation in the coming years and decades, when they remember Coldplay they will come back to this song, to this particular time.

Too perfect (except for Buckland's out of tune slide solo) and polished for my taste, there's no edge to it, identical to the record. Best song they've written in the last 15+ years imho though

Coloratura is definitely in my list of top Coldplay songs. This musical piece is one of Coldplay's greatest compositions, and arguably, it may even be one of the best musical pieces ever composed. Wow.
This song is an absolute masterpiece. Something to make listen to our children and nephews to make them understand what music of the universe is.

So happy this has been uploaded. Been with Coldplay from the start, nearly 25 years.It still amazes me how they still produce music that I love to listen to. This one hit me right between the eyes when I first heard it.Seeing it done live is simply a lesson in the spectacular. The epitome of teamwork. Chris's piano work is second to none. So interesting ,versatile , progressive and with such talent. I have nothing but admiration for their longevity and class. Long may it continue.

You aren’t wrong about there being a touch of Floyd. I think Pink Floyd is in a completely different universe though (not good or bad). I hate the comparison because I think it’s lazy. Long song, spacey guitar is about the only comparison.

It´s complex for "pop" for sure, and I love that they didn´t go for the simple melodies and chord progressions that are in every pop song nowadays. Respect! But if you want even more complex songs, you´ll find plenty of it in jazz. Chord alterations, modulations, complicated rythms, dynamic solos etc. is all over that genre.

I have allways been a fan of Coldplay making actual rock songs and slight prog things, this is “classic Coldplay” trying to come back into the world.
Queen has Bohemian Rhapsody, Coldplay has Coloratura.
Congrats to the Howard Stern Show and Sirius on this performance! The sound and video production were beautiful. I sure hope to see this live someday. Coldplay always finds a way to lift my spirits.

i love it when bands go all out to make one amazing long journey-song that defies normal song structures and explores the band's creativity for the sole purpose of telling a whole story. Think Muse's The Globalist, Green Day's Jesus of Suburbia and Homecoming, Daft Punk's Too Long. I'm so happy that Coldplay decided not only to do a song like this but also to promote it as a single, it really deserves it.
