This is why I love bands like Coldplay, Pink Floyd, and Nightwish (them being my favorite band of all time). Their music are works of art and they are the masters of storytelling through music.

This song combines everything I've ever liked in the past ten years. From concepts to the cosmos, to the eerieness, guitars, and lengths of Pink Floyd, to the melancholy of Radiohead, to the dreamsphere and colors of vaporwave, to the kindness of lo-fi and the sweetness and love from indie. The warm hug of piano, the percussion dancing. The comforting vocals. It feels like it fits in my life. A culmination of my favorite things about music. It made me misty-eyed. It's wonderful.

There's something so special about hearing a piece of music that isn't bound by the normal conventions of songwriting, especially from a band that has worked so hard to hone the craft of creating songs that connect! The result is this immensely beautiful, utterly unbound piece of magic. An intelligent, and vastly emotional, work of art! The future of music is so bright. :') Thank you Coldplay.

Loved the song before watching this MV. The MV to me felt like I was looking at humans’ true form, we are not the flesh our soul lives in. We are the Heaven, once our physical body perish, that’s where we will go, it’s where we come from. Possibly one of Coldplay’s best songs in my humble opinion.

To me this speaks to me on many levels, reconnecting with people who I have lost and will reconnect with at the end of life, that our lives will continue in some way like stars of the universe. It is like we are all colourful lights and stars of a continuing universe that is so profound and deep and in a spatial time we can’t comprehend. Very interstellarish. The best music by Coldplay so far in my humble opinion. Hopeful, uplifting, celebration of life, the universe and deep connection of love between people you have loved and lost but still live on through the stars and our turn will come when we join them at the end of our time on this precious special planet called Earth. I could go on. I hope I am not the only one who feels these feelings/thoughts from this mesmerising music.

There’s no way to actually describe the special feeling Coldplay songs have. And this one in particular stumped me, at first it didn’t really click with me, but soon it grew on me and now I can’t stop listening to it. Somehow this song sounds so new, yet also old and nostalgic. I feel like I’m listening to several different artists at once, yet it also feels like such a classic Coldplay song. No matter how experimental they get, they never fail to give every song a piece of themselves. I hope they never stop making music, everything they make is so special. I just wish I could articulate it better lol.

I’ve spent the last 1 week or so listening to this song every night, crying, missing my mom who’s up there in heaven. I’m not sure if I can relate to the lyrics but damn the feelssss it’s like being elevated to wherever heaven is. Such a beautiful song. I hope I can hug my mom in my dream tonight.

It's clear Coldplay don't care about making hits anymore. If they did they wouldn't be doing 10 minute songs. They just want to make their own music that they can be proud, but they will always be my favorite band of all time.

While I agree that this song wont be a top chart hit I would say their first single “higher power “ was a hit so I think they are trying to make music for everyone as far as I’m aware its their first and only 10 minute song.

Their recent song Higher Power was literally made for the charts. It was also co-written and produced by Max Martin who is hired to do that exact thing. Although I do agree that Coldplay like to experiment. We saw it with their previous album and ofcourse this song.

Not every song necessarily has to be a "radio friendly hit". The length and style of this song are reminiscent of Progressive Rock which is known for elaborate musical pieces with instrumental portions. I personally love PR and glad they did this song. Each song should be its own separate story yet not necessarily be that "hitmaker" Besides...other than the 3 obvious interlude songs on the album only ONE other song other than Coloratura appear to be slower and "nonpop" sound. So...plenty of potential hits on this new album.

It’s like they reinvented Gravity, mixed it with Moving to Mars, added some of that 5/4 time signature a la Aliens in the bridge, with pinches of Lennon and Bowie, and created a freaking cinematic space epic masterpiece. This is one of the best things they’ve composed.
