These models are called 500T, Model 5T, SD-10A. They have 9/12 port choppers. The 500T is the one that looks like a horn. The Model 5T is the one that looks like a rocket. L.A had 500 SH-TT, Fedelcode Model 7 9/12 (the short one), Federal Signal SD-10, and a Federal Signal Model 7T (the tall one) 9/12. Some cities had Thunderbolts sirens like Hawthorne

Los Angeles does have darley sirens and the darley siren in the L.A. is a darley model 2..

Some of them are active the model 3 & one of the SD10’s were if u look it was connected

I know these are decommissioned but I swear to god I’d hear them very occasionally in westchester when I was a kid the ones near LAX. Probably around 2009

There are also a couple Mobil Directos in Culver City and a Chrysler siren on top of a hill near Glendale

The sad thing is that they could easily use sirens for outdoor early warning alerts for detected earthquakes. Other countries do this.

We use them as tornado sirens in Kansas and Missouri. The use of the sirens for tornado alerts was quite controversial and actually lllegal until the 1950s. The sense of fear i get from them is the fear of tornadoes, not the fear of attack! Very eerie sound!!!

The Beverly Hills Police Department tested the ones Beverly Hills they were modulator tornado sirens.
