I've had terrible thoughts in the past over choices I've made. I'm 34 now and recently my 21 year old brother said he no longer has a reason to live. Don't know what to say to him or what to do. Wish I could get him to try something like this.. Terrifies me that he may be gone soon. Crying watching this. Not easy to find cold in Florida this time of year but I think even a hug and a cold shower might help..? Everyone out there please be safe and don't take anyone for granted. Please be safe and stay alive everyone. At least as long as you are physically able! Just can't stop worrying and crying..

Talking about mental health is super important, especially from people within a position of public recognition in this day and age. Normalizing it, making it ok to not be ok, and its just a step of the journey. Thank you guys for speaking up, and being apart of a positive change in the strength community.

I love the way you put that. “Normalizing it, making it OK, to not be OK”. That’s a perfect way to put it. I’ve witnessed people with mental health issues blast others with mental health issues, from a place of insecurity and fear from their own issues. Society/some folks create an environment in which people fear getting help or being open about their mental health. The Stoltmans impact on the world is in its infancy and seeing things like this make me look forward to see where their path takes them.

From man to man...from a son who lost his father...and from a suicide survivor myself...thank you guys from the bottom of my heart for doing this. Men need to be more open about their mental health. Women as well. Humans as a whole need to open up more and know that’s it IS okay to not be okay. Reach out to a friend, seek help, see a doctor. Get the help you need. I’m 26 and absolutely love cold/wild swimming. It really does make you focus on the present moment and encourages a mind over matter mindset. I swim in the rivers and ocean - in fact, I was in the ocean this morning. I’d recommend it to anyone, the feeling afterwards is euphoric.

I've been wanting to get a cold tub for by back yard... I think I'll pass along this video to see if it helps my case. Been doing ocean plunges in the winter for a handful of years and it feels so amazing afterwards. This year, after workouts I'd go take a rest in the snow. The feeling is so much different than a hot tub. When I go in the hot tub I come out feeling dazed, tired and relaxed. When I come out of the cold I feel energized, refreshed and alive. Thank you for posting this, and for sharing those statistics. It goes to show that even in one of the most scenic and beautiful places in the world, there can be mental health issues affecting people.

Nice video. Mental health is a topic that’s close to me. And i think getting out of your comfort zone is one of the most important things to do. It’s what helped me a lot. Maybe people aren’t made to be comfortable. Maybe we rather rediscover what humans are capable off. We forgot a lot about ourselves when everything had to be more comfortable and convenient. It’s a shame really. I think the topic of this video is more important than what a lot of people think.

It’s been very very hard, yes I’ve had some very dark thoughts and also full of anger. However, we have to stay strong, I know it’s easy to just give up but that’s a cowards way out. For anyone reading this and having these thoughts, give cold therapy a go, it works wonders for the gray matter and makes you see things with clarity. Most importantly, do not stop fighting, you’ll win eventually.

Fantastic video, guys! I've always thought that a lot of mental health problems are related to the brain deliberately trying to work against it's own interests, in the absence of challenge. When we present our bodies with something to fight, something that scares us, something to overcome, then, we can draw upon those challenges and fuel our minds to avoid the downward spiral into despair. Depression left me once I started to appreciate every problem I've overcome in my life, and the man I turned into as a result of them. Knowing I'm trying to be a positive influence on other people makes me feel better too. Luke said it best, "We're not doing our jobs as a human race ... we're letting people take their own lives".
