I was a Perkins field engineer for many happy years, I worked on so many pieces of equipment I could not list them all. Perkins where fitted in industrial, automotive, marine, and agricultural applications. 👍
Perkins factory in Peterborough churned out 4 and 6 cylinder engines for several other manufacturers. They got painted the correct colour at the end of the line. Volvo had the Perkins name ground off the cylinder block.
2:55- beautiful restoration
Used to work for a sawmill logging cottonwoods and they had Massey Ferguson wheel loaders that we used. A couple of solid frame 44s with 4 cylinders, a V8 55 and a monster 66 with believe it or not a 4/53 detroit
That old 2 cyl marine engine with the reduction gear on it was Sweet ! I would Love to have that for my old double ender..

The Phaser and the V8 510/540 was the best sounding diesel engines Perkins made.

It was one of my favourites to test when I was building fire sprinkler pumps. So smooth and quiet. We sometimes got the exhaust manifold glowing red when we would run them at 130% flow.
