That old Detroit brings back memories of the old days. Riding the old skidder in 19 degree weather would chill you to the bone, keep cutting and stay safe. Saying hello from the hills of Tennessee.

My logger neighbor down my road today had a skidder fire it spread through the field he had all his other equipment in. I’m fire chief at our local fire department. We managed to save a lot of equipment but he lost 7 pieces of equipment before we could get the fire out. A couple skidders. 2 Prentice loaders,an older dozer as log trailer and and old Kenworth.

Steve, I have a question for you. I have a 460 rancher Husqvarna with a 24'" bar. the chain came off the bar, the drive link of the chain that rides in the bar will not fit back in the bar slot, every link has burrs on it. I have had chains come off before but never caused this kind of damage to a chain. could this have caused damage to my bar also? Is there anything else I should look at, are just replace the chain. It's a new saw with only 5 hrs on it. The guy that was using the saw was cutting in vines when this happened. Thanks

Iv had that happen to me many time. I put the chain on the bar and tighten it snug. Start the saw and it will knock the burrs off the chain and fall back into the bar, or trash the chain and buy a new one. That's your call but I always use the same chain.
