It isn't crazy cold at 2 degree Celsius, but this bus had not run since back on October 31, 2021 which is also not a very long time, but still, it has been parked during -30 degree Celsius weather. Detroit Diesel 4 stroke diesel engine, Allison B400R5 transmission.

Reminds me of the time I saw a mechanic start a D40LF inside VP, I could almost smell the exhaust in this video. Of course it was about -30c at the time and they did not use a Tacoma for the boost!

When I helped out some friends with a GM Fishbowl here in Calgary with their fleet, we had a charter we needed a bus for and plugged it in the day before in the morning as it was about -40C that day. Even with the bus plugged in all day and starting it that night to make sure it started and batteries were charged up and fuel was full, it still was frozen. We got a propane heater on the engine and tried again about an hour later, and it fired up after a couple of tries. I miss the fishbowls I used to own and 3 of them have videos up on KZread as well
