Cold Bluing A Vintage Axe During Restoration

This is a clip from my latest axe restoration . After stripping paint and removing rust, bare metal is left exposed to the elements. Adding the cold Bluing solution helps protect and preserve the metal. The full restoration video is available to watch on my channel now.

Doe's anyone know if cold blueing can stand up to reoeated heat? As used on a old kerosine heater i took down to bare metal? Too pretty to paint..fumes are a concern as well
What brand of cold blue are you using? Looks like you’re doing better than I usually do on the little gun stuff I’ve blued.

I came by a small double bit axe at an auction 1 dollar. Never saw one like it. Has a bent handle like a hewing axe.

Could be a Cruiser, or a salesmans piece. Both are more rare. Any markings?

Ya, sometimes I get a little carried away and forget or just decide not to use ppe. I did have my boots on if that makes a difference!
