Thank you for the detailed report. Very insightful. Honestly Coke and Pepsi cola drinks are aerated sugar syrup. Nothing comes close to Thums Up. Instead of only allowing Coca cola and Pepsi to enter Indian market, Indian companies like Parle and Duke should have taken the battle to US turf. Our products were qualitatively and taste wise way better but Indian companies lacked the international business ambition and marketing acumen. Hence they were taken over by Coke and Pepsi. Also, the locally made jeera soda drinks are just too good. Wonder why they are not exported.

The big mistake of Parle was they were depending upon bottlers if they would had built their own bottler plants then not even Pepsi-Coca Cola both together could beat Parle...just like even after 100 years TATA, BAJAJ, BIRLA could not defeat because they are not depending upon others they have their own assembly plants, spare parts plants.

Excellent research and presentation... Kudos.. As part of the war you did not mention of the clash between Double Cola & Parle,, seems that was a classic tale too !! Do follow up on an episode 2 with that, lemonade and the other Indian flavoured fizzy drinks. Thanks

Glad I came across this video. Impressive research, and well put together presentation. I'd just like to offer one teensy suggestion. Narration could do with just a little bit of flair. The current intonation and pace becomes just a tiny bit dull. But I absolutely loved the content. Never knew that Gold Spot, Citra, Thumbs Up were owned by Parle! Gold Spot was a favorite. Mom used to make cakes with Gold Spot flavoring too, and it was heavenly. Coca Cola did a stupid thing discontinuing it.
