A chinese lion dancer boss in honor of the Crucible wasn't on my DLC bingo, but here we are. There's a lot of imagery in this trailer that seems like it'll be fleshing out the Crucible as a concept more, which is exciting.

Sounds like we will touch Miquella's hand where we fought Mohg, and be transported to the past / future, or another dimension. It also appears like its essentially the entire world map in another dimension. I wonder how many new POI's there will be on this map.

Miyazaki definitely cooked the best DLC known to man

Mesmer (what looks to be the main antagonist) makes me think of so many different things. The snakes and flaming weapon link him to rykard, but the red hair links him to the giants, but he also has eyes that could be of the dragon communion, and his design remind me of the dragonslayer armor. Also, his bracelets look like the bracelets of the godskin noble and apostle. He also says "mother" wich could link him to Malenia, or Marika, or even the gloam eyed queen, the queen of death. Also, his blade looks like it may have rot on it.

I feel that lion boss is either. Malekeith twin . A beast that is related to him , but light version of malekeith . Miquella beast. Or, the pre death version of sarosh . Just theories.

The lion boss is also grafted and it's head is being held up by hands so maybe godrick grafted sorosh? It looks like some dead demi gods like godwyn (the skeleton thing with the knives maybe) are in this place. And it is covered in gravestones and you have to touch miquellas dead hand to get there so maybe its where all the dead souls go in the erdtree

Because i feel this is set in the past. So. Sarosh being a lion. Maybe wasnt killed yet, and this what miquella remembers sarosh as. Or maybe its her beast . Or maybe it was malekeith before corruption. Just theories tho

this lion's face doesn't look like serosh, it gives vibes of like a Nue or similar demonic creature, and ots definitely grafted, its placement on the body and the way its moved makes it seem like its attached in place of an arm

It's not Miquella, it's Messmer. Miquella can be seen at the end with blonde hair. We also know this because the collector's edition comes with a statue of "Messmer the Impaler".

The lion boss looks like the shadow version of Morgott. Same omen horns, bare feet, and lightning attacks. After rewatching..the lion boss is actually two omen guys and the one is on top of the other...Also the old guy pulling the sword from his head is possibly the same guy on the portrait with the lady besides her.

Messmer might be an avatar/champion of the Formless Mother - his powers seem very bloodflame-y to me. He's also dressed in what reminds me of the Drake knight armor set. What's interesting is the focus on imagery of the Crucible, the land/religion from before the Lands Between, which the Erdtree grew from. Which would be like living in it's shadow, metaphorically.

I think Messmer is the unwanted son of Marika that the spirit was hinting at outside one of the Legacy dungeons that had something to do with "impaler". If he is that guy, then maybe he is sibling to Malenia and Miquella. There are 3 butterflies, one tied to Miquella, one to Malenia and people thought the third one was tied to Melina, but maybe it is actually tied to Messmer since it's called *smoldering butterfly*, and he seems to be using fire so.. This makes me more curious about Melina's open ended lore that also have alot of holes in it.

That is one seriously pricey DLC, hope that pricepoint isnt going to become the norm for DLC prices. I mean that DLC is the same price as the whole of Helldivers 2

Fromsoft DLCs are ALWAYS worth it in terms of their scope. Think of it like an expansion rather than the typical "couple-hour DLC"
