The song Atlas was released a couple of months before my 1st son was born. And it became an anthem for this fresh father. I still remember my son on his 1st birthday, in my arms, and I singing Atlas for him to sleep. Years later, I have another baby coming lol, and C&C brings this masterpiece. Assuming the lyrics refer to a father & son connection, I simply can't help but listen to it over and over with my eyes wet. Thank you so much, C&C.

I believe IRL, both songs (Atlas and Rise Naianasha) are essentially songs from Claudio to the real Atlas, his son who had just been born/was on the way around the time Atlas the song came out. In the lore, there is no lore for Atlas because TCBTS wasn't part of the concept, it was raw Claudio energy, and I don't think we have the official lore yet but I'm fairly sure based on what we do know from the first Vaxis album that this one's probably (in-universe) a song from either Nia/Sister Spider (Nia could be short for Naianasha?) or Nostrand/Creature, assumed to be the parents of Vaxis in the lore (given how the first Vaxis album 'begins with them' like the character of Vaxis says, and the whole thing is supposed to 'end(s) with me, their son, Vaxis'), to Vaxis who is said to be catatonic from what I recall for at least a portion of the second Vaxis album from which this single comes.

This song has a great contrast with a theme that I think lurked in the story of Coheed's earlier albums, really only coming to the surface once they were adapted into comics, of Coheed K. and Inferno having failed their children. Inferno especially was never a good enough parent to tell any of his children anything remotely like "Just call me and I'll be there." Coheed may have been at one point, but his mistakes in SSTB quite literally haunt Claudio K. for the rest of the saga. I love to see the band flip all that around in this song, especially since Claudio S. is writing this all from his new(-ish) perspective as a father. It really highlights his growth.

you're assuming you understand what it's about, but it's a little early to be making assumptions. just as an example, Claudio kilganon could be The Great Destroyer, which would connect this back to the earlier storyline and tying things together, because remember this is still a part of that bigger story, and it needs to connect back up.
@EthanHDM

@@better.better it's possible, but this story has already show cased that the heroine and hero of this story have a child. So this is more than likely a pivotal point in the story for their son. I believe the words I'll be your great destroyer, is his father giving him reassurance that no matter what he'll be there to fight till he dies for his kid. It's just my take of course. Can't wait for this album and the comics for this story.

So something I notice is that the interplay and rhythm here really remind me of the sort of 'push and pull' grooves from Good Apollo Vol. 1, right? But it doesn't sound like they're trying to make 'good apollo vol. 3' or whatever, it's definitely their newer sound. Just through a different lens. Coheed has evolved, but they haven't forgotten where they came from, and this sounds like the music THEY want to be making, not just music that the fans want to hear (fan pandering is something I as a creator really hate). The point is, this is some GOOD shit and I can't wait to see what's next.

Oh God. I love it so much.
As the father of a one year old boy whom I love dearly this song makes me very emotional, especially the chorus. Claudio definitely had Atlas in mind when he wrote this song, even though it's part of the Armory Wars.
Anyone appreciate the fact that with this newer music, theres a lot of throw backs. If you listen to a certain rhythym guitar riff in the dark sentencer, it's almost identical to a rythym guitar peice in no world for tomorrow. Someone commented that shoulders sounds like it came from the NWFT era, and then if you listen to this track, it's a little bit of the choral pieces from fear through the eyes of madness... Josh's drumming patterns in the chorus of this song is almost an identical pattern to the outro of Willing Well II. So to those who say it's not the same as the old stuff... it may be a little true, but the backbone and skeletons are definitely still there!

Lets take a sec to appreciate Cooper... his phrasing and pops had a nice thump. Big Anthemic Song!

Super Duper!
This song makes me cry like a baby boy.
Absolutely incredible as always. There have been few things in my life that have stayed as consistent as my love for Coheed and Cambria. Can't wait to hear the new album.
This is the most advanced band, I love the lyrics and the animation.
I really think Coheed write some of the best hooks in music. There’s a sincerity behind it too that makes them so effortlessly palatable… I love this band.
So glad I took the advice when my friend insisted I listen to them a few years ago. I didn’t know what I had been missing. Keep it up guys can’t wait for the new album.
Wasn't expecting to cry to music this morning but here I am. This song is amazing and I just sent it to my own son. Love this band so much. 🤘🖤
Man I Iove this one. Hits me right in the feels and it feels great!!!! Coheed at their best right here!!!!
As a father myself this shit really hits hard.. the tears were flowing hard the first listen 🔥 My favorite band forever
This song always bring tears to my eyes, so beautiful...
I'm thankfull for every single song. It's unbelievable how much great and unique songs CC has given to us. Each and every one drags you into this world. I'm just happy, unbelievable song - again.
Why does this song slap so hard??? They did not have to write such a bop, I'm gonna have this on repeat for the next month and a half

It slaps you, strokes your head for a couple seconds, and then slaps you again.
Being a dad to a 5 year old son and a 1 year old daughter I can represent this song in both of my children and the relationship I have with both. C&C have made a ballad for every aspect of my life growing up and now into father hood. I love how I feel like I'm growing with the band and the life travels we've all be on.
This is literally the best chorus i've ever heard
