Coftyr: Bulwark of Royalism
The Quar are a remarkable labour of love, awkward yet martial anteater-like creatures embroiled in an unending dieselpunk war for control of the destiny of their home planet of Alwyd. With a style best described as "grimsical", they occupy a unique niche in the miniatures wargaming world, and deserve to be better-known. And since nobody talented was doing anything about it, it was time for mediocrities like me to step up to the plate. I'm obviously unskilled and untrained, and it's my fervent hope that people who've surmounted the low bar of greater competence than me are inspired and/or horrified by ineptitude to the extent that they produce Quar-related content infinitely superior to my crude efforts.
In the interim, this video explores the recent history of Coftyr, the great and oft-imperiled standard-bearer of the Royalist cause on Alwyd. The astute listener will notice I mispronounce several words, and first of all, let me assure you: I went through a jillion re-recordings getting rid of all the even worse ones, and secondly: I'm a reader, not a talker, and I think you can see (or hear) why.
You can learn more about the marvelously-detailed world of the Quar and get free PDFs of miniatures wargaming rules for the currently extant lines of 28mm, 15mm and 6mm miniatures from Zombiesmith at rhyfler.com/.

I'm noticing Quar getting popularity as its just now reaching some spotlight in the tabletop community! Ordered my starter set today, thank you for the great lore video!! Nobody else has anything on the lore of this amazing world, and this made me feel some real patriotism for Coftyr

Thanks, David! I'm really trying to find the time to make some more; unfortunately I've been slammed with family and work responsibilities, and evading them has been occupying most of my time for the last six months.
This is fantastic! Very interesting, and the filter you put over your voice really sells the time period Quar is set in. Just ordered two boxes and can't wait to paint them.

Thank you! But that's not a filter, it's just me trying to sound educated (a tall order)--unless you mean the filmstrip FX, of course. I had weighed trying for a 1930s radio announcer voice, but then I listened to my test recording and immediately discarded the idea, burned the microphone I used to record it, and smashed the hard drive with an axe.
Great videos, I’m really enjoying this series. Hope you carry on
Please keep this up

I hope to! My ambitions for this have (hopefully temporarily) collided with the realities of having three small children and the holiday season, but I'm hopeful I can find more time in the intermediate future.
I know it's been 9 months but I just discovered this channel and I hope you make more! If not, totally understandable. Life happens.

Thank you! I've been trying to find the time and hope to soon(tm). I have three small-to-intermediate-sized children and they've kept me alternately busy or exhausted this year.
COFTYR STANDS!
They should never have made that deal with Gwynt. Who was advising the King??

Didn't expect to see Patrick Stuart of "False Machine" fame here on a Quar video.
Table top game brought me here

I was wondering if the sudden follower growth had something to do with a channel people had actually heard of!

Not as far as we know, but Kathryn Tidrick is a real historian and I wanted to be sure the quote was properly attributed.
